the reason why i think the 92 NLCS loss was the worst is because we are one out away from the world series, the slowest runner in the league and former pirate scored the winning run, a no name got the winning hit, our best fielder booted a routine grounder to set it up, our manager took out our ace to put in a rookie fastball side arm pitcher (a pinch hitters dream) and our so called best player and league MVP couldn’t come through when we needed him most. It all happend in a matter of 10 seconds and it was the third year in a row and we knew it would be a while before we got back.
It did suck losing to dallas thou, thats definetly in the top 5.
I’d have to say david volek’s overtime goal in 93 against the pens was a heart breaker.
