Best and worst moments in PGH sports history

IMO the best happend 45 years ago today @ 3:36 pm. Maz’s homerun to beat the yankees. it don’t think its a matter if you like the steelers over the pirates, beating the yanks was like david vs Goliath. The only game 7 bottom of the 9th walk off hommer in MLB history done by the least likely guy on the team.

worst moment happend 13 years ago tmw. game 7 1992 NLCS in atlanta, :puke:

lets hear some good ones from everyone else

:blah: =

  1. they gave cutty a job
  2. They built PNC Park
  3. The built Heinz Field
  4. The still kept the pirates
  5. Hockey what?

damn fuckers, i’m tryin to have a decent conversation about sports.

may 25th 1991

PENGUINS 8
NORTH STARS 0

Worst-No more Maulers

or gladiators

Pitt’s 21-17 upset of Miami on Sept. 18 1997

Mike Rozier could have taken us all the way with just a little more time…

yes but who were the goal scorers in the order of the goals and who scored 2 that game?

the day they sign dave wanstet as head coach to pittsburgh panthers.

The guys who had sticks in there hands and skates on their feet.

Today we lost the first World Series to the Boston Americans. 1903

joe mulen scored 2 i think, murphy scored, jim peak scored, mario, francis. have no clue on the order. I’ll go home and watch “one from the heart: the story of the 90-91 pittsburgh penguins”

worst: superbowl XXX, cowboys down steelers 27-17

best: Jets vs. Steelers. January 15, 2005. Doug Brien misses two game winning field goals. Reed nails one in OT to make it 20-17.

Yeah but they didnt win the super bowl so that winn was pointless. Adam Vinatieri Kicks game winning field goals every other day.

how bout the year before the cowboys and steelers

chargers vs steelers 3yrds to go and couldnt make it in or any championship game the steelers play in!

imaculate reception. (spelling is def incorrect.)

oh and todd. i have a maulers coat and had floatin around my house somewhere.

Best (in my lifetime): The Pirates back in the Bonds/Bonilla/Van Slyke/Reynolds days, The Steelers being contenders nearly every year since Cowher took over, The Penguins taking a year off…heh.

Worst (in my lifetime): The Pirates since 1994(?), the demolition of Three Rivers, the demolition of Pitt Stadium, THE END OF THE YEARLY PITT vs PENN STATE GAME!!!

just an exciting game overrall. the stadium was crazy that evening.
