best interior care product

For shine, i think the Armor-All Ultra Shine works best

I’ve tried the Nano protection spray, it doesn’t shine, but seems like it does a good job cleaning and protecting the leather interior

anyone have any imput on leather conditioners?

i was thinking the Ultra Shine is good enough, but i’m wondering if the Meguiar’s leather condtioner is much better.

For the leather seats in my Z, I’m using Meguiar’s Leather wipes. But since the car is new to me and I’ve only used these products once, I can’t say how good they are yet. Ask me again sometime in spring

As for things like shift knobs or leather steering wheels, I used Simoniz leather protectant cream… just worked it into the leather with my hands into either the wheel or knob (of my prev. Civic SiR, not the Z)… that stuff was great, though I don’t think I’d want to use it on seats (just because my hands would get tired from all that rubbing, lol).

Okay.

From what I personally use on my own cars, as well as customers:

Vinyl- 303 Aerospace cleaner/protectant/ Optimum Protectant

Leather- Leatherique Cleaner/Rejuvinator/ Poorboys Leather stuff

General purpose cleaner- various dillution levels of 303, and Meguire’s Professional line APC

I don’t really have a ‘magical’ everything in one interior product.

Good luck!

The thing I don’t like about the Meguiars line of dressing is that I find it on the greasy side. I much prefer the ‘natural’ leather texture/suppleness/feel. I don’t seem to get those results from either AmourAll, nor Megs.

i just installed the rear leather seats in my S14 last night, and i feel some parts where the leather is getting stiffer.

hopefully these leather conditioner products will restore some of the softness to it.

where do you buy these products?? Meguiar’s i know C Tire has, but the rest of the stuff??

303 you can buy from Crappy Tire. Poorboys iirc you have to order from the states.

I’m having trouble applying an even coat of 303 protectant on my Z…the uneven texture of the plastic trim is giving me trouble when i try to either:

  1. Spray directly onto the panel and then wipe, or
  2. Spray onto a paper towel and then try to wipe the stuff onto the panel.

Any suggestions?

I can imagine that the fibers of the towel are not reaching into the dips and rises of the vinyl. Do you have any microfiber towels laying around? Terry Cloths will do also, but those are rare, and may leave lint.

I would certainly give it another go with a ‘plusher’ medium, that has a bit of a ‘pile’ so that the fibers have a go deeper into the panel.

  • Spray directly onto MF (Not soaking wet, but saturated with 303)
  • Wipe onto panel, spread as evenly as you can
  • Wait a minute or two, and come back with another towel to wipe up the excess.

>> Just a note. I’ve ran across some dashes that would just keep on soaking up the 303 due to years of neglect. Multiple applications may be required.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Oh by the way,

Costco has a 20 pack of MF’s that are great for dirty work, and general cleaning.
They work well for interior work as well. I highly recommend then for general purpose cleaning as they are dirt cheap!

I have some that work for paint also–albeit they’re not the best, but they do pass the CD-test.

YMMV
