leather upkeep.

hey all,

like with all leather interior, on the lower bolster of my seat, there are some stress marks, i was just wondering whats the best way to clean/condition them from further preventing this.

i don’t want them to be shiny, i perfer the matte finish.

thanks.

zymol.

I use meguiars leather conditioner. It doesn’t really get rid of the stress marks though

I formerly used Meg’s, but now have moved to Lexol’s conditioner which leaves my leather feeling softer and has more of a neutral finish (no gloss). However, unless someone knows a secret I don’t, you’ll have to go to a pro to repair cracking/stretching or buy an expensive multi-step rejuvenator like Leatherique. I’m very careful how I enter/exit my car to be kind to the bolsters, especially with jeans. Caring for leather is not easy. :-\

Use good quality leather care products that care for the leather. Nothing will take the stress marks away, but conditioner will help keep the leather supple so that it has give to it. pH balance is important … I use Lexol products - cleaner and conditioner. It is used and developed for horse saddles as well. No greasy residue or shine build-up ever. Fairly priced too.

Zymol is great too - but expensive

For extreme cases there is leather dye - gotta get good stuff though and do it properly.

Get Lexol @ Gearhead !!

Maintenance is important with leather - it’s skin, condition it with the right stuff

how much for this lexol

this

I used some Meguiars leather conditioner, it was there “higher end” shit was pretty pricey iirc…

Anyways used it in my G20 every month or so, leather always looked good and was soft. The interior of the car was my favorite thing, and I don’t think I’ll ever find another one with as clean of an interior. :banghead:banghead:banghead
