Correct and correct. Reasoning is simply to keep condensation/moisture from hitting the filament, which can destroy the sensor pretty quick. Just install as near vertical as possible per application, location from turbine pending sensor. NTK’s are tough and can run closer. Bosch sensors for whatever reason seem to last longer and read more accurately in the 18-24 +" downstream range, but not all applications have that kind of room.

good to know its a boch sesnor… as im not running a cat, i may be able to put it 18 inches down
