The sc300 was another suggestion just trying to find one could be rough. I’m open to ideas that’s why I made the post
ive always wanted an sc300
this.
how would you make a 1.8T “move out pretty good”
Seems like you have a broke ass budget, so i say go with the DSM
For your budget you would be very lucky to find a 2g dsm in great mechanical and exterior shape. You should be able to find a first gen in good shape for that amount.
trooof
DSM’s are worthless… i deal with alot of guys trying to part or sell their DSM’s but they cant get any money for them… i think the DSM’s being cool era is about 3-4 years past…
240sx will still be hot for a few more years… they ARE everywhere now but that means there is still a good market for used parts… you can still part them out and make money… i’ve bought and turned a profit on parting out at least a dozen of them including an S14 this year i made a few grand off…
miatas are there too but the market is still smaller for them… they are a cheaper car overall to do than a 240sx.
civics still have a huge market but FWD is still gay… who cares about a 300hp civic… that shit was cool maybe 6 years ago…
miatas, 240sx’s and 3-series BMW’s are what you want to look at… drift / grip / snow fun / and can be reliable DD’s
TRUTH
1g dsm= 6 bolt 4g63 (up to 1992.5 model year)
2g dsm= 7 bolt 4g63
6 bolt better than 7 bolt.
youre gay
Broke as budget. Or maybe I’m just a real person who has bills to pay and is not gonna drop all my cash on a car… Unlike some people on the board here I didn’t get setup with a nice pillow of cash from my family.
Not trying to be a dick, just saying… seems like you are not willing to shell out a lot of cash, yet want to go fast. In which case i would buy a 1g DSM, they can be made decently quick for basically nothing.
But if you’re not “set up with a nice pillow of cash” from your family like others apparently are on here, and have bills to pay, maybe you should re examine your priorities? :gotme:
The canuck has a valid point.
You know what I’m saying. I’m looking to drop around 5 on just the car. The parts come later. But it is more of a project than anything. I’m just looking for a good starting platform
alot of good advice here
as much as i hate dsm they can be made pretty fast cheap, but im bias against maf cars and dsm’s in general are not known to be reliable
you havent mentioned what you want that magical 300whp for ?
imo a perfect daily driver should get traction in 2-3 gears, great turning, 12-13 sec quarter mile and still get 30+mpg
k swapped civic/integra will do all that and still run 11’s with bolt ons and slicks
k swap is no where near his budget lol
If you wanna wait til summer you can buy my 1g
eric, k swaps have came down alot in price, hell the one im selling here is for 4500 obo
and plenty of k-swapped cars on k20a.org for under 8,000
can you keep one car and mod it for a bit?
k thanks

Again 5k before parts I want to spend 5k on the car. I’m sure I could get a decent civic with b swap for that price. I’m just trying to stay out of the honda game.
SR swapped S13’s are all over the place for under 5K, it wont be pretty, but they’re pretty solid.
Ok, just for you <3
but everything always is for sale
All I can say is I wouldn’t even buy a fwd car let alone spend money making it “faster”.
I bought a fwd car once… once. (I have had about 15 cars)
My 2 cents you didn’t want to hear. lol
