I decided that Im going to paint my engie cases a gloss black, leave the covers polished and use stainless harware. The engine itself is dirty and greasy so whats the besy way to clean it in prep for paint? I dont have access to a pressure washer so this has to be done by hand. What are the best degreasers out there and whats the best way to scrub the nooks and crannys?
I can’t remember the degreaser I use but anything should work ok. And to save youself the time/pain buy something that can go into a drill to get into the tight spots. I’m sure they have stuff that can do the job at Home Depot/Lowes, etc…
purple power always works great for me
or get it mediablasted by a shop if you want the best results
Ugh purple power works wonders buy don’t breathe the mist in!
Coughcoughcough!
Any degreaser, followed with a powerwasher…
orange?
YES. paint it orange… with a brush.
that is clearly yellow
Old truck + Engine in the bed + Spray & Wash = profit.Pre-soak the entire engine with degreaser.
thats yellow
you should do yourself the favor and find a power washer, you will use it for something else anyway. any degreaser should work and get a rotary tool or like Paulo said an attachment for a drill.
Get it soda blasted. That will clean everything off of it. Just make sure you rinse/wash it after.
