BF2 Lan Setup

I’m trying to organize a LAN at my place for about 15 guys on Friday. (NO GIRLS ALLOWED)

I don’t know how many copies of BF2 and COD4 I’m going to have to go around… do I need unique keys to play on a lan? We’re not hitting the net for anything. We will have probably 12 copies there, but I’m hoping I can setup the couple computers I have behind me with the disk I have.

My problem is I won’t actually have my disk until tomorrow… so I won’t be able to check it tonight on those computers.

I’ll have a 24 port gigabit switch and not internet connection.

If this LAN party works out, like I hope it does, I’ll surely throw one for the nerds on here.I just have a lot of guys from work coming, and I want to make sure I have the room and the supplies to support what I am already having.

Post up if you might be interested. I’ll know what kind of room I’ll be dealing with later Thurs or Friday afternoon. BF2 and COD4 99% of the time, and then possibly some WaW for the guys who can run it.

Thanks in advance.

I’d be down to whoop your ass in BF2, but I’m not bringing my rig over

Let me know if you’ll have an extra PC.

I’ll put you on the standby list.

Why wouldn’t you bring your PC? You still rocking that Sony comp you bought a couple years ago?

Same old computer. I’ve needed to upgrade for a while now. But the bigger issue is lugging around my 32" monitor.

I still play a few hours a week to keep myself in war-shape though. There are lots of good players out there to match up against after all these years.

I’ll have extra monitors… bring your box.

Second thought… just bring your damn monitor.
And why the hell would you wuss out of an opportunity like this? We’re going to have some great players here. Billy has dibs, because he is helpful… then you.

your biggest issue will be routing power to people without tripping circuits

and u will need an internet connection (what’s the big deal?) for people to get updates because if there is any variance with the bf2 server… no one will be connecting

Gaming laptop FTW

I’ll be at work until 11pm on Friday, so I don’t even know if I can get there right now.

In…I have ISOs of BF2 so they can be run as a virtual disc via Daemon Tools. BF2 would still need to be installed however. I’m all set however.

P.S. The same Disc Image will work on multiple PCs I’ve tested this out myself.

wa wa wee wa?

I have both games!

And I haven’t played BF2 in forever… so… that only means major pwnage…

No COD5?

I don’t get it…buy an Xbox play online with all your friends…don’t leave the house…

As far as these two games

PC > XBoX…Lan parties are cooler.

Sometimes it’s fun to do this in person. Should I scrounge up a video card I might be in.

The PC version of BF isn’t even close to being the same game as the console version.

But setup a server online and I’ll play from home

I only made a comment because of COD4…I have never played BF…

Honestly if enough people are interested…I have pretty much unlimited bandwidth…I could set something up.

Battlefield 2 was for PC and Battlefield Modern Combat was the “equivalent” of it for console. BF: Modern Combat was garbage compared to BF2 which won multiple awards. CoD4 seems to be pretty much the same regardless of which system it’s played on.

@Onyx…if it’s a Lan Party you wouldn’t be able to play via internet.

I can’t play FPS without a mouse, lol.

If someone designates a server / time I’ll definitely play online.

I could be game, bringing either my laptop or my desktop. LMK

Hopefully your house is set up to dish out enough power! You have no idea how quickly 15 computers are going to crash your circuit breakers… LOL

This has been mentioned above but I think it needed to be reposted.

I could be in for the nyspeed one, i’d bring the laptop and whatever other networking equipment we might need

have an 8 port dell giga switch and two cisco 24 port switches
