^awesome… whats the top speed again?
Did you have a shorter post available for fitting? (Assuming you got fitted on this)
I’ve been wanting to try out riding a fixed gear bike. I wonder if I can actually do the skid stop.
I never ride bikes on the road though. I’m a mountain bike kinda guy.
Trek 7500 for me. Pretty basic hardtail with Rock Shox and v-brakes.
Lol, what the fuck are you talking about?
My point is that equipment that extreme and advanced is only realized when you’re at the pinnacle of achievement; typically that only happens at high level competition.
There is no way that anyone on this board is at the level where a space-age bike like the one in the first post is going to give a noticeable advantage over a conventional framed bike.
Christ, he’s riding in local events, not the tour de france. Unless you’re placing at the top of these events, you’re just going to look like the asshole doing the falling leaf through a terrain park with 3500 dollars worth of top-of-the-line snowboarding gear.
I agree with newman, that thing seems like SERIOUS overkill. It is a fucking $3,000 bike, for local events that don’t mean shit. http://triathlon.competitor.com/2010/04/bike-buyers-guide/fuji-d-6-comp-3150_8278
Plus, the dude is always on here bragging about new shit so he deserves to be knocked down a peg or two.
meh, it works the quads much more which helps for training purposes. and I prefer riding my fixed gear if I plan on leaving it locked outside somewhere. less shit to steal.
I kinda have to agree also. It’s a gorgeous bike don’t get me wrong but seems like serious overkill unless you are biking some serious international events. It’s like me buying this so I can play Solitaire.
Its a Triathlon Specific Geometry bike… i bought it for doing the races and only that… i have my road bike for doing general rides and stuff like that.
… if you look up what the average cost of a tri bike, i got a GREAT deal on this (i paid a lot less than 3500 for this as a new closeout)
Most tri bikes are 5-10k
This is on the lower end of the Tri Bikes (the frame isnt, but the gears/shifter and other components are, especially the wheels)
Its different geometry than a road bike so it allows you to ride in the aero position to both A go faster and B work a different muscle group that will allow you to save your legs for the run.
I got a full custom fitting from toms pro bike to find the geometry that would work best for me… and then worked backwards to find the best deal on a closeout/used bike that matched that … and found this
The shorter seatpost will put my saddle height exactly where i need it, and the top tube is a perfect length with a slightly smaller stem
my sister and one of my friends used to do triathlons and they never rode special bikes
it takes a special person to ride a special bike, much the same with busses. your sister and friend must have just been normal
Skrappr, how does that thing stop?
The brakes?
Lol.
Ummm might want to have that fork looked at.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA!!! Good eye man, omg that’s hilariously wrong!
good eye… i didnt even notice it was backwards
lol, nice.
You really need to get the fuck off your high horse in these bike threads.
That’s when I brought it home, I changed it about 25 seconds after that picture was taken lol.
Krant is like Lance Armstrong, he’s like the best bike rider, ever.
