I always ride with my helmet. Sucks that this happened. But Im with Quik with the helmet thing. If you dont wear it, dont expect to have a chance.

However, riding without a helmet is a stupid thing to do- and even more stupid is you are worth as much money as he is right now.
On one more note, I know they say she ran a stoplight and struck him OR WHATEVER, but, I have also heard countless stories about precious big ben weaving through traffic and driving like he was invinsible.
And of course whoever saw the incident was prolly from the Pitts and if they are anything like the rest of the city would stand by ben no matter who was being a dumbass.

i thought it was pretty ironic that most of his injuries were to his face…
i could have missed something, but i didn’t hear anything about broken arms, legs, shoulder, etc…
would have been interesting to see the outcome if he had a helmet.

I do not know what point you are trying to make…but in no way you can say you are at the same risk wearing an helmet. All that stat says is people not wearing helmets are either safer or better at riding bikes. Or a lot more people who ride wear helmets than people who don’t. Think of it this way, would you rather have your headhit off of metal with or w/o a helmet on?
Your last comment makes no sense at all…the thing is if he would have wore an helmet the CHANCES are he would have had minor injuries with road rashed knees. So when a helmet does save your life there is a chance you will not be able to walk…ect, but I am sure there are a ton of situations where is could save your life and you can go on to live a normal life.
i think its because nationwide more people wear helmets then not so of course there are going to be more deaths.
if you going to compare you have to do a percentage comparison …deaths per total.
im betting more or less if he had a shoei full face helmet he would have no cuts, no missing teeth, and no broken jaw, his neck might hurt a little but thats it.
