Hey guys,
I just bought myself a 2005 Honda VTR1000 today :finga:, but I don’t have license yet, so I’m just wondering if anyone knows of a place to get in fast to get my license (Edmonton or Calgary). Thanks guys.

you bought a 1000 for a starter bike??
and you don’t even have your licence yet?
i see a busted bike and a trip to the hospital in your future.
ya thats not too safe…i took my course at Nait, its 500 $, 2 day course, and at the end of the 2nd day you take your “road” test in the parking lot on the 8 or 9 obstacles you have practiced on. its pretty easy, not too much in class stuff, its all riding. they teach you how to ride safe and plus alot of insurance companies want you to have it anyways.
:cry You have let all your spec v buddies down Nick… I know she’s not fast but a little time and work is all she needed… :club: :axe: this is a sad sad day…
Deal with it, my Nissan is no daily driver :finga: Oh and if this should be in Off Topic, please move the thread.
muahahahah!
Your four-door family car isn’t a daily driver? :o
JK
Nait or I believe the Alberta Safety Council.
…and 1000cc for first bike? Please take it easy! You can kill yourself with a 125 so keep that right wrist in check.
Ever since I put my front wheel into the driver’s side door of a certain a-hole that “didn’t see me” I have the “they’re all out to get me” attitude whenever I am on a bike and it has served me very well. Really helps with stain avoidance techniques, i.e., not getting splattered.
Just my piece of advice.
Yes, good advice from MyGTR.
And get frame sliders, because I guarantee you’re gonna drop that thing more than once
go to TNT motorcycle in edmonton, 375 for a 2 day coarse, good instructors, and then you do your test.
Yeah that’s where i’m gonna take it at, and the sliders are a good idea, i’m already on that. I can’t wait to ride this baby, but don’t worry boys, you’re worse than my mother. The guys at honda even said that the way this thing is geared it is a really nice bike even if it’s my first bike. I’m 23 not some crazy 16 year old.
You’re 23 and you still had to ask your mommy  I just I shouldn’t make fun of you my wife won’t let me have one
If you splat can i have your car? good luck with the bike thing… couldnt get me one of those… it has to have 4 wheels MIN! … mmmm 15 wheels…
yeah what MyGTR said…and spend the extra money on GEAR!!! It will save your life! I know it saved mine!!!

1000cc is a good starting bike, lots of torque. The power’s in the revs, so keep em low, till you you have the experience. I started with my brother’s 98 vtr1000. Love the v-twin sound. He had hindle highmounts.
