Bimmer leather bolster repair?

http://i26.tinypic.com/2qsx6pj.jpg

So I’m buying a bimmer and it’s only interior flaw seems to be the bolster is tore up. Does anybody repair or know of a fair leather repair person?

I know the angle isn’t the best but I don’t have the car yet, I have to go pick it up out of state. Tryin to get a head start on the repair contact and price it out.

Thanks,
Mike

Wouldn’t the entire cover need to be replaced? Just guessing, that is what I’ve always assumed. Its from lazy people that fall in and out of cars. Happens on any cars with mentionable side bolsters like you see there.

You need a new (used) seat (cheapest) or need to get the cover from BMW

+1

The bottom bolster on my M3 is a little worn and I paid $150 for some Mexican guy to make and install me a new one.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Where can I find this elusive Mexican to make me a new one?

I’ll keep watching ebay, I’m also lookin for a red front bumper cover for my 2001 Civic coupe on there anyhow.

I had the same issue with my BMW… there’s nobody in WNY who will fix that (replace cover) for less than like $600+.

I purchased a pair of E46 sports seats from ebay for around that and installed those instead.

we need cheap interior shops like mexico around here :frowning:

Well since I live in Houston I can follow any impala with 24’s to find a Mexican doing interior work.

Um I think Paulo had that place in Hamburg re-cover his Cavy rear seat in a nice fake leather for ~$400 if I remember correctly.

$400 for just one seat with fake leather might be possible around here…

but I’d rather spend $600-$800 for a full kit with real leather from ebay and do it myself at that point.

it’s the $150 fix that I want as an option.

there’s a guy that does leather work in east aurora. it’s the shoe repair place across the street from the police station on main. i’ve never had him do work for me but i hear he is very reliable and reasonably priced. it couldn’t hurt to give him a call.

Will try. Thanks for the lead man.

don’t forget to report back after you go there.

The only problem with the BMW seats is the way they are stitched. You can’t remove part of the cover and replace it. You have to make an entire new cover section.

If need be I can ask the place I had mine done at how much they would charge for a new cover that you need and let them use mine as a base to copy. Only problem is matching the color.

2001 540I seats work? There is one in the yard here. They’d need to be cleaned badly though.

and the car they are in:

don’t know if anybody has tried seats from a 5. I do know that 5 owns put in seats from the 7 highline series

Picked the car up and drove home from MD. Amazed I got here on 1 tank while romping well on the gas and going pretty quick.
I’m gonna need a headliner replacement, or to have it re-done.
I’m sure I can handle the removal but don’t want to dick with glue and having to re-do it 5 times before I perfect my technique.

Anybody here good at interior work? Please PM your thought on price for re-covering the headliner, sunroof panel and hell why not cover the pillars since the cars pretty well stripped at that point.

Thanks again

take a look at this for the headliner:

Nice, found tons of articles but nothing suggesting that yet. Sure as hell worth a shot since the headliner is clean and a fair amount of work to remove and re-do. Pillars are mint.

Thanks for all the help.

Try:

Neuland’s at 5274 Broadway, Lancaster 683-1770

should buff right out.

If I can get a steamer ima try that trick first. If that doesn’t work then I’ll have to pull it and have it redone.

Thanks for the location.
