:rolleyes:you’re not a libertarian it just sounds cool when you say it.
you’re like most of us. an independent with no home. you had to google what libertarian meant before you even claimed you rocked that party.
pissed of independents… we vote Dem or Rep, whoever is less evil bc a third party just ain’t gonna happen. i’d rather cast a half ass vote for the big2 and try to help steer this country back outta the gutter every couple years then ‘make a statement’ and vote for whoever the third parties roll out in front of the cameras every couple years. :1320:
this is why i never get why people lump me in with Darkstar politically… I’m:
Anti gun
pro environment
anti-censorship
pro free speech
very monitored immigration, build a 20 foot wall if we have to
fix welfare into a supplement… you have to work 40hrs/week and the gov’t kicks in the difference to meet a minimum standard of living. if you don’t work, starve.
massive education reform, elimination of religious primary and secondary schools.
Social Security in a “lockbox”
MASSIVE tax cuts made possible by massive government reform
keep some corporate welfare in order to keep Americans employed
massive upsizing of the federal government, to eliminate redundancy
I registered to vote on my 18th b-day. I registered Libertarian, which means ive been one for 5 years. Long before Pittspeed was ever intented. :ugh:

right. i vote for Libertarian canidates because I vote my conscience. I refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils. Especially in a state like MD where its not even gonna be a close election. I know they’re not gonna win, but if they can get a certain percentage of the vote they will get federal funding and be included in the presidential debates. One step at a time. 99% of people out there have never even heard of the Libertarian party, but SO many would embrace it if it were a little bit more mainstream.
i think that a steamlined federal government, with much of the pork cut, can more cost-effectively run the country. Look at how poor and uneducated much of the south is compared to Pennsylvania. Arkansas and Alabama are never going to get better without the federal government taking over. Imagine a federal standard to pass each year of grade school, and each school having enough money for relatively new textbooks and extra-curricular activities. Spending some money on the education and social development of our population saves us from having a nation full of parasites.
I’m fine with hunting rifles. I’m fine with basic handguns. I think to get a gun ownership permit you should have to go through the same shit I do to get a real estate license (Criminal background check, classes, licensing test).
Assault rifles, automatic weaponry, et cetera… do not belong in our society.
i agree we need to increase education funding, but I think it can be done on a state level. All of the money we save eliminating the Dept of Education could actually go to education.
it’s really evident at local levels, and less on federal levels… but hear me out.
back in the day… if you were a tax collector, county commish, coucil man, or whatever “title”… you did you job IN ADDITION to your full time job. I’ve worked for the gov on state and national levels… and it’s not a full time job. half the time we spent trying to look busy, and the higher ups just dodge phone calls and goof off too. a lot of government jobs don’t require 40hrs a week. so in the past you’d have businessman governing on the side.
now they require you to sit in an office and the successful bright minds of the State/nation can’t afford the pay cut to do nothing. take my home town, uniontown. county commish’s have gotten in fist fights at meetings, been arrested for fraud, prostitution, etc… why, bc $30,000 positions are below the ppl in the county who could contribute, but that’s a gold mine for fayette county and the weirdo’s come out in droves to run. they know it’s a full time paying job that doesn’t require you to lift heavy objects.
i know there’s no symetry to what i just wrote, but i just don’t take politics that serious anymore considering we’re arguing over the actions and decisions of ppl who were shunned by the private sector, in a country founded on capitalism and the strength of the private sector.
Congress needs to issue a massive, all encompassing internal audit of all facets of the government. we piss away SOOOOOOOO much taxpayer money on inefficency. Money that is desperately needed to pay down the debt, fund education, and go back into people’s pockets.
When the government is more well armed than it’s citizens, the government can tell the citizens what to do without their consent, leading to a situation that is not a government by the people, for the people.
Gun control doesn’t punish outlaws and criminals. It punishes honest citizens.
Refer to Nazi Germany for the history lesson of control and what that lead to there.
Firearms are tools. It is the individual who uses them responsibly or irresponsibly.
Our forefathers envisioned no restrictions on your second amendment rights provided you could be a responsible civic minded person. If you were a criminal, you’d be dealt with as such. Understanding the civic responsibility bestowed upon you as a firearms owner/user is of the utmost importance.
Social Security/Welfare: (they are basically the same thing: redistribution of wealth)
“Lifer” welfare people: Second generation (and beyond) welfare dependence is a travesty and we should all be ashamed that we’ve allowed our fellow citizens to degrade into a pattern of dependence.
Social Security: If we’re going to continue to have this facet of our government, the GAO or some other group needs proper oversight and the power to prevent this money from being squandered and borrowed against.
Education:
The Dept. of Ed. is starting to regulate that which was originally intended to be a state’s right for self-governance. Re: “no child left behind”. All in all it’s “good intentions”, but it isn’t their domain.
Citizen oversight: The citizens of a community should have broad powers of oversight w/r to how the district runs it’s business. The district should be accountable for it’s actions to this committee.
Lifer politicians:
When was the last time a carpenter/stone mason/computer engineer/regular joe was a politician? We need to get real people back involved in government instead of unobjective panderers.
Maximum of 4 years public service for any elected official. Must hold down a real job outside political service. Cannot deal with issues that affect the sector in which the politician is employed by him/herself: COI is dealt with in a tribunal fashion, with each of the three dynamically assigned members from an adjacent district collaborating to reach a decision with equal weight w/r to their opinion.
Misc.
Institute a reasonable Flat Tax, based on consumption of goods and services.
State’s rights need to be clearly outlined and strictly adhered to by the federal government, and vice versa.
them would be used by someone in western virginia. insinuating something?
all i know is you’re wasting your vote by voting for a libertarian in anything higher than a local government position. is it moral and right? no, but it is the way our democracy works.
