Listen to the Ravis (Serika) He is Piston Master of JE
I feel your pain about screw ups. I was sent the wrong engine bearings, so now I send them back and the ones I ordered are back-ordered, I’m SOL for a few weeks. Good luck though.
measure it with a caliper to check, but i think that is just the casting nummber as well
listen to hotrodkid…
are you keeping them then? i thought the plans were building it for next summer, so why not send them back and wait…
edit: listen to serika too actually, that could be it…
lol … listen to me?
well now i know never to take shrives advice
heh
hahha, just now found this out? :poke:
Talked to rodney(guy i got them through)… turns out it is the forging.
I was measuring with a ruler on the piston top, came out to ~81mm, but the top is ribbed somewhat, so kinda hard to measure. Hard to describe, but anyways, i went back and measured the flat spot on the bottom below the pin and it came out to about 82mm… which is too big for an 81mm bore. Monday i’ll go to the physics lab at school and get a digital caliper to be sure.

well the top is going to be undersized because it runs hotter and therefor it expands more
:word:
Well for those of you that don’t know…Serika works for JE in Cali…I would have taken his word and measured as to what he said
