and… my pistons for the 20v came from JE today… ordered them custom 3 weeks ago. Not a bad turn around time.

sweet right?

f’n FALSE!!!

yup… they sent me 1.8t 20v pistons… which are 81mm bore instead of the 2.0’s 82.5mm… looks like i’ll be a month or two farther behind.

:frowning: piss.

just shim them …

shim pistons for the wrong bore? Somehow i’m sure that wouldn’t work.

lol sorry brian, u should bitch

haha, well clearly i’ll get it cleared up cooley… its just frustrating.

powder coat the pistons with alot of jet hot, then machine them down. should work.

just buy oversized rings and run gear lube for oil, it will all even out …

smart man.

word this has worked for me in the past, helped with cylinder head temps too

mierda

or he could get the pistons he paid for :gotme:

looser tolerances = less friction anyways … and less friction = more HP, i dont see the problem … :gotme:

indeed.

and yes, i’ll just get the situation fixed, and get the custom ones I paid for… and send back these off the shelf ones.

just had to vent a little.

Thats sux… And I know how you feel about having to wait for shit…:banghead:

hahahaha, i fear mine won’t be NEARLY as long as yours… although i don’t feel bad because you still have yet to install it.

It would have been in by now if they would have shipped it to me like they said this summer… But I might be sending it back for-:snky:

1.5mm sleeves

spare sheet metal and a few well placed machine screws to hold the “sleeves” in !

FYI, the 81M on the bottom is not the bore size, but rather the name of the forging. Notice how it is forged into the bottom of the part, and not laser marked like the job number is.

In other words, are these parts actually 81mm? What do they measure .500" up from the bottom of the skirt?
