Ok, I found all the pieces I need to make the fittins for my oil pres (and
water temp) gauges. Now I know the 240 uses the British pipe threads
but which is it? BSPP or BSPT?
BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) or BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper)?
For those that don’t konw, with a male nipple:
This is BSPT:
This is BSPP:
Here’s the fittings I made (I know I get all nerdy with Photoshop - but it
just makes my life easier). Using this way, I don’t even need that
Autometer #2269 BSPT/NPT fitting I bought which cost me $20.
These are all 1/8" btw.
I woulda done this already this week but my car is in the shop till Thur so
guess I’ll have to wait till next week to do it.
I gotta set of racing headers from a friend for a DOHC motor and it has two places for an O2 now i want to use one of them for EGT. Thats why im lookin for thread sizes. Thanks Gonad.
If you have access to a welder, or know a shop that would do something
quick, then get a female adapter welded on. I think all of Autometer’s
fittings are either 1/8", 3/8", or 1/2" I believe and the EGT is most likely 1/2".
No need for BSPT or NPT conversion there…
Anywho back on topic…
I believe all of the fittings on the 240 are BSPT, so I’m looking forward
to seeing how my fittings work out.
