An email I got:
On Sunday, July 16 we are blowing up a car for charity. Guess how long the engine will last, win some money and help out the United Way.
The car this year is a 1992 Ford Tempo. It has a 3.0L motor, with 399,000 km on it. (this is not a misprint). The oil will be drained from the motor, the oil filter will be removed, the coolant will be left in. Each guess is $10 with the winner receiving $100 and the balance will go to the United Way.
Last year we raised $250 for the Alberta Cancer Society, and the winning guess was 47 minutes and 11 seconds. The car was a 1986 Nissan Pulsar and it lasted 47 minutes and 15 seconds or so.
Anyone hear of the results?
