Ouu. DO WANT
Trading in the STI?
Just curious why some people don’t want. (?) I haven’t learned all of the technicalities of the car but it seems pretty sweet. :gotme: Price?
Because it’s too small, probably costs as much as an M3, and that side profile above looks like a Z4 front and dodge caliber back.
It’s only about 250lbs lighter than the M3, costs nearly as much, I don’t care for the 1 series coupe’s looks, and driving wise it isn’t anything new or exciting. It’s also only as fast as the Z4 si… yet it’s an ///M model, and comparing it to the e30 M3 may be a bigger slap in the face than when they compared the 135 to the 2002.
And last I looked you get a bigger discount going euro delivery on a 3, than with a 1… so if you went that route you end up with the cost being even closer.
Price (MSRP):
Germany EUR 50,500
US approx. $ 46,000
This is probably not going to hold true^ I would imagine it will be higher than that. But I know you cant touch an M3 for that kind of money if it does hold true.
Looks is so-so imho and an opinion.
But the factory diff, suspension, brakes, wheels and tires are a better starting point than my 335i. My 335i had a 48K sticker price back in 2007 btw.
With the same bolt ons that the 335 has already proven, it would make for a fun car and maybe even better on the future used market.
Yeah, but you can get an M3 at euro invoice all day long as they’ve been out for a few years, which is 49,9 for the coupe, or 47,4 for the sedan (not including options, delivery, title, tax, etc). Would you really buy a 1 ///M that isn’t faster than a Z4 for the same price as an M3?
BRB, going to place my ED order now.
The m3 just has no tq. and with some bolt ons the 1M will be decent. Who knows… I really like the e90 m3, but I just cant justify the 10K I would have to give them on top of my car and drive somehting that is exactly the same inside, even though its better on the track the 335 tq is better around town.
Who knows… if clean e90 m3’s start getting below the 40K mark I may be interested. But if a 335i turbo kit comes out with some decent numbers and cost I may end up there.
