BMW 325i Transmission Problem

Trying to fix a 2001 325i and the transmission shifts like a dream under normal driving (slow driving) if you floor it or try to use the tip tronic it sticks in gear and just hits rev limiter and never shifts to the next gear. When this happens you have to pull over turn the car off and restart it because the pedal feels strange and non responsive.

Since it shifts fine under normal conditions I’m thinking this could possibly be a valve body or solenoid maybe? I’m no Bimmer tech so any help would be appreciated.

I plan to change the fluid ASAP even though BMW says it’s lifetime fluid (yeah right) also to see if this helps at all.

Car has 125,000 miles on it.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated

There the same solenoids that shift it in auto mode so I doubt its a solenoid error . Unless once ya go to trip mode it shorts suttin out id look there first .

2 wheel 325i? SICK

:rofl

Moved to auto.

get a paint filter before you drain the fluid and run it through that. That way you can find a debris that might indicate a internal failure.
