BMW = Oil Drinkers

So in the last few days I’ve seen the oil light flicker on the BMW. Strange because I know I’ve kept up the service to BMW spec.

I called Budd’s this morning and was told that I’m not due for a service, however, “those motors do tend to burn a lot of oil” so I’ve been instructed just to top it up.

However, I think this is pretty crappy considering the car has just over 38,000 km’s on it.

I know ALL motors burn oil to an extent but geez - that seems like a lot for such a fresh motor.

If you think that’s bad, you should check out the RX-8!

ehh rotaries are meant to burn oil, thats how they lubricate.

Early 90’s Jeeps are brutal on oil too.

my friends bmw 320i was burning oil, at like 65,000kms.

now he got a new motor…

BMW warranty ftw

Ya dude lots of BMW’s i race against spit out TONS of blue smoke. They make good power but i dont know why they burn so much oil

theres should be a spec on how much oil the engine will burn…
c if u can find it
if u a over the spec and the cars still under warranty, go back to the dealer and complain…

what year and make is your car cuz i hear its mostly common on the 3 series.

thats honestly brutal…oil burnage at 32 000 km’s…yikes

2004 320i

better bring it back to the dealers…

but those cars might burn as much as 1L of oil between oil changes and dealer still consider it as normal
