I still fail to see why people don’t like the interior of the new C6
The heads up display is awesome, the seats are comforable and supportive, the gauges are nice, the navigation is pretty cool, keyless igntion…granted, its not a BMW, but it’s not supposed to be. For a performace based forum, you people are out of your heads. You just want something to bitch about.
I never actually complained about the interior, which started this, he said its another Union made piece of crap, and I said it is, the interior could be nicer or the price cheaper if the UAW was not involved.
Dont be mad because your car is a cheap piece of crap.

Stick with your Camry. It’s all the power and style you can handle. My grandmother drives one and loves it. Why don’t you try another forum like: www.slowandugly.com. :gay2:

Why do you even care? You’ll never own one. GM can do what they want and people are still lined up to pay MSRP or more. That’s what really pisses you off. It’s a hit, a homerun, domestic and UNION. You just can’t handle that can you? GM can name their price and sell all they make. So it seems the people with the money don’t agree with you. They are that GM needs to please, not crybaby wanna-bees like you.
Not really. What makes the C6 Z06 (or C5 Z06 for that matter) such an attractive purchase is the low price for high performance. If the Z06 was priced the same as a GT2 it wouldn’t sell.
And you can be sure that GM would sell a hell of a lot more Z06s if they weren’t union built. Why? Because they’d either cost less or things (like the interior) would be better. GM doesn’t have shitty interiors b/c they want to, they have shitty interiors because they can’t have nice ones and keep their car’s price points where they need to be.

Honestly I would be intersted in the purchase of one once they get under the $50k mark, and looking at the market it is not going to take that much longer
People with money do agree with me, there is no waiting list, dealers are not charging $20k+ over msrp, and they have no resale, you pay $80k new, and in 1-2 years you are LUCKY to get $66k. If it was such a great overall quality car there would be waiting lists and dealers would still be charging significantly over MSRP. I am sorry and choose to spend my money on a better overall vehicle not a 1997 base vette coupe :gotme:
get off your union fed high horse and educate yourself how the union is killing the american car company.
ugo, are you like a spokemans for GM or something? Your taking this waay to personal. Why dont you go sit in your middle age crisis machine and keep thinking that your smart.

Not a GM spokesman. Thank god. GM is in deep crap. I just can’t stand it when people pile on the UAW. 99% of you have never been in a UAW represented plant. I’ve been in many. I see what goes on. It’s not a matter of thinking I’m smart, It’s that I know about the UAW and the auto industry from the inside. Like the post the other day that a “union member can’t be fired”. It’s total crap, untrue, I’ve seen it happen MANY times. You guys all believe these old legends from the 70’s. We’re not sitting around drinking coffee, reading the newspaper, But that is what everyone pictures. The Corvette plant in Bowling Green KY. is open for public tours. Check it out and then come back and talk to me about the UAW. Also, The 'Vette is an old mans car. My only crisis is that I’m slowly going deaf, my vision is getting worse, and I have less hair now. Why would a guy say the Z06 is crap, then say that when they get below 50K he would buy one? It makes no sense.
I think you are missing his point. I dont think he is trying to say a ZO6 is crap but that if it werent union made it would be either cheaper or better(interior/build quality). I think this is easy to understand as a concept. Look man i understand you dint want to hear bad things about the union but dont take it so personal its not like you are the guy who has made it as screwed up as it is. You are just taking advantage of it which is good for you if you ask me. Go to work, love your job and paycheck but shit dont try to ignore the crazy overhead created by the UAW.
There has always benn something I don’t like about 'vettes, and I still am ambivalent about them. But there is absolutely no agruing with those times and the performance of the latest generation Corvette. In fact, the “base” model is really the most impressive. At $45,000 dollars it completely blows away the competition. Nothing comes close at that price., The $25,000 premium for the ZO6 is probably warranted, but I’d be more interested in the base car. Anyway, damned impressive. GM’s product line is steadily improving. Ford is looking weak and DC, wow. I wonder what the future is for them?
The LSx is clearly going to be one of the legendary engines of all time. I was totally impressed with GM’s willingness to stay off the 4V-DOHC bandwagon and bet the farm on an OHV design. The results of this “out of the box” thinking are indisputable. Works great in everything from light duty trucks to SUV’s, to 200mph sports cars. Versatile design? You betcha. And the ultimate verison, the LS7 is just amazing. Compare the cost, packaging, energy density, fuel economy, etc. of any other production 500hp motor and the LS7 simply blows them away. I think the “crate” version is on the order of $13,000. I wonder what a 500hp motor from Ferrari costs?
And don’t forget about the amazingly small package they fit the LSx into, thanks to the simplicity of OHV engines. There really isn’t much out there that compares in terms of size/weight.

Absolutely. One specific example: if you’ve priced a performance camshaft lately, retail price is about $300 for a V-8 roller. A set of 4, for a 4V-DOHC V-8 motor is about ~$1,200. The “outdated” OHV design saves you nearly a grand just on the cam(s) if you want to do a swap! Obviously, they cost less to the manufacturer, but the principle is the same.
yeah the genIII really upped the ante on pushrod engines. really though, I dont care what valvetrain it has as long as the heads flow good and the weight is managed so there isnt valve float for the rpm that the overall package can support.
