boost gauge installation

hey guys i just got a boost gauge. i’ve never installed one before. im just wondering where to tap into the vacum line on an sr20det, if u could show me a pic, that would be great

thanks

you’re measuring the intake manifold pressure, so any vacuum line coming off the throttle body (there are 3 nipples) will do.

Notice the rubber line coming from the throttle body? (It’s the 2nd line on the blue bar from the right).

That is the source and I distribute it to the Boost gauge, BOV/Wastegate, and MAP sensor (boost gauge line not shown)

ok… relax and think about the task at hand.

where are you mounting the gauge? you need to run a vacuum line from the throttle body, through a hole in the firewall, and out to the gauge.
i chose to run a rubber line across the firewall to the driver side, then used the plastic line from the kit to go through a grommet in the firewall and to the gauge.
i can’t remember exactly how the compression fittings go together, but it shouldn’t be too hard to figure it out… and the wiring is pretty simple.

that’s the Megan kit, right? did you even read the instructions?

lol, ya i was going to post a pic of the instructions too but they dont explain much. is there anyone in the hamilton area willing to help me out with this? i will pay.

ok guys i figured it out, its installed, it lights up when i start the car and it reads like 18 or somethin negative at idle and goes to about 6 psi i think, i just gotta get some double sided velcro tape 2morrow cuz i dont wanna drill into my dash incase i ever sell the car and hide the wires n’ stuff better, it’s lookin good. thanks for ur help, now i can pass on the knowledge, finally a thread which was helpfull and didnt turn into an all out shit show. thanks again guys
