Hmmmm…leader in the clubhouse.

For some reason I read the thread title as “Bought a grenade”…

Congrats! I am going through the same process now except I bought two houses and three garages.

Congrats on the house.

Looks like you have plenty of land to expand the garage…3 car?

 Looks awesome! Congrats good sir!

Sweet, congrats.

Congratz, I just bought my first as well. We had it built so it was probably a little different experience, but never the less, interesting and exciting at the sametime

I’ll post pics soon myself

UPDATE:

I put on my landscape architect hat and got to work.

Went to Lowes and bought a pallet of 8" wall stone and started digging at 730 pm last nite.

My cousin showed up with a case of beer and we got down to some serious landscaping.

By 10:30 pm we were feasting on some Picassos pizza admiring our work.

I think it came out great for the first time ever doing something like it and doing some of it with the help of a work light.

By far the best part of home ownership is pulling in your driveway and smiling knowing what you have done to improve your home.

This is far more rewarding than modding a car thus far.

Next step. Plant a japanese maple or whatever than fill with mulch.

I am debating what to fill it with…I have the mulch already…just need to figure out what bushes/trees/plants will not be attacked by the deer and rabbits.

Next weekend I am going to figure out what to do with the other half of the garden closest to the driveway…I dont want to go overkill on the stone wall as I think that can look tacky…maybe a nice graded to subzero rock bed.

I like the Japanese maples. They stay small and only need to be trimmed once per year. Check out Russels on Transit road in Amherst. They have a big selection of trees that would fit your wall nicely.

How long before you have garage space up for rent? <3

Congrats as I never seen this thread before.Landscaping looks nice too.I hope ya got 10% off at Lowes tho!!!
D

I had a coupon for 25 off 250 or more…a 25 dollar gift card and a 10% employee discount through a friend.

came out really good man, nice work!

Nice work. Did you dig down and keep a stack of 4 bricks all the way around? If not, did you have to tamp the dirt underneath it? I was wondering how the stack of 4 bricks would settle compared to 2.

There are areas with 2 bricks and areas with 5 bricks to maintain the level across the slope of the yard.

I tamped the dirt and used pea gravel to level the bricks.
