BOV Popping off!

I have A HKS SSQV blow off valve. The flange is welded to my coldpipe, the bov is held on there by a C-Clip.

The damn thing keeps on popping off. Finally tonight i lost the rubber gasket ring thingy in the darkness.

I put the bov back on without the ring, anyways it holds boost fine, and seems to be no vacuum leaks… do i need this ring.

What other alternatives do i have for keeping the BOV on. Should i just weld it directly to the flange or is there something i can buy to help it stay in the flange.

Thanks,

I had the same problem with a buddies BOV, he has a SSQV to. The C-Ring popped off a few times. You need to compress it alot in order to make the c-ring sit properly in its groove.

It will be a boost leak though. Not a huge one, but will be none the less. I recommend putting one on.

Definately need the o-ring as stated above. You can use a hose clamp around the BOV and charge pipe to hold it on with the c-clip. It is a ghetto fix but works.

get the clip clip properly installed.
I’ve never heard of a hks ssq bov popping off, and in my opinion if it ever did, it was because the c clip wasn’t properly installed.

Now for the o-ring, they tend to wear down and cause boost leaks.
What I did was use gasket maker to form the oring inside the flange as the gasket.
Never had a problem.
