You get to see a shit load of fights over the weekend, Amateur rounds goes 3 rounds of 2 minutes each so no tippy toeing around, all fights goes balls out.
Chance to support the local scene and come watch Bora fight.
oh man I am going in for like ultrabantem, its ridicilous.
I’m 128 right now but going to drop to 124 to enter…hell, might even drop to 119 so I can fight some 18 year old first timer freshmens haha pure cheating.
it goes 119-124-132…
Its a tournament so if you lose you are out, but if you win, you keep going.
First fight is Friday at 7 pm, than saturday afternoon, than saturday night, than if you win all 3, finals are on sunday. There might not be a lot of competition on my weight class but last year there was 110+ fights in total in all weight classes over 3 days so you will definetly get to see enough fights to entertain you.
I think worst case scenario in a weight division is that if there is no competition, you win the title by default and fight an exhibition match or two from a little heavier divisions loser bracket bahaha.
but yea, it should be a good event, if you are a boxing fan, shouldnt miss it.
Not sure yet exactly when the first fight is going to be. 99% sure it will be friday night. I will be able to find out more exactly once I pass my medical and registered under the club, aka. a week or two.
99% sure that I will have my first fight on friday night. If I win, than saturday morning, than saturday night, than final on sunday. If I lose, I am out since its a tournament set-up. That is also considering there is enough competition (aka. boxers attending) in my weight class. I honestly cant say anything 100% until the cut-out date for application/registration, which is I think a week or two before the tournament.
I still gotta get my medical done before the end of the week, than I will talk to club and try to let you guys know…
Went in for my medical yesterday, everything cleared except there was traces of protein in my urine. Doctor went all psycho and paranoid and now he wants me to get a bloodtest. Cant believe I have to book a day off work for that.
It is normal to find some traces of protein in my urine sample since I am on supplements most of the time. He knows it too but I guess I am a new patient there and he doesnt want to take his chances.
My blood pressure is excellent so it cant be cardio-vascular problem, lets hope its not my kidneys
ps Mike, I added you on the msn addy you gave me… a/s/l ?!
Went in for my 2nd urine test and blood test. Again, they found some more protein in the urine sample this time, more than just traces from the last time, blood test will take another 2-3 days for results but doc said to stay away from boxing.
Going to update again after blood test results, hopefully its nothing big.
I still am not cleared to fight and now I have an appointment for kidney biospy on nov 16th. They are going to go in and take a tissue sample from my kidney to see what is really wrong.
Thats way too late for registration, even if I clear. None the less, If nothing is major wrong, I shall be back and I will let you guys again for the next fight.
Sorry to disappoint. As this was going to be my first time, it was my first medical, so I had no clue there was something wrong.
