So I have an entire kitchen set of brand new Niagara cabinets that I bought, some are not even built yet, but I am not staying in my house long enough to make it worthwhile to redo the entire kitchen. I have the whole deal… uppers, lowers, sink base, pantry cabinet, lazy susan, tall oven thing… everything and they have the soft close drawers. I got a deal so I bought them but now I don’t want them. Where can I sell these without getting creamed too bad? The retail price from the website is a little more than $12,000.
Your best bet is to call the company and negotiate the restocking fee. They will start high to not lose the sale, but you can really beat them down on it. Tell them that you are willing to pay a 20% restocking fee so long as they are willing to give you a 10-15% discount when you order cabinets for your next home. Explain the situation and do not back down, it will work. Even if you do not buy from them again, the 20% loss is less than you will lose letting the order fulfill and trying to sell them off.
They couldn’t care less. They ignored my calls and emails to the point where I had to drive there to get a response. I do not have counter tops yet.
Tried all of it… worst customer experience I have ever had in my life. Utterly amazing how little they could care after since I had already paid for them. If a customer calls me with an issue or complaint they usually get annoyed at how many people contact them to try and help fix the issue. I think I am pretty much fucked here.
EDIT: Maybe I should just do the kitchen and at least enjoy the view while I am getting bent over the cabinets.
Holy crap I didn’t expect this much interest so fast!! I will get measurements and pictures up as soon as I can! For now click here to see what they look like: http://niagaracabinets.com/cabinet-styles/ Mine are the Mocha ones, second from the bottom.
The uppers are 30in tall, 12 deep with varying widths. I have one that is glass that is 42in tall and is made for the corner… this is my favorite. The lowers are 34.5in tall to set up a 36in height with countertop added, 24in deep and have varying widths as well. The oven cabinet is 96in tall and the pantry cabinet is 84in tall. The small glass one you see in the picture is simply me ordering the wrong size glass cabinet so you will get a very small, glass, beautiful and completely useless cabinet… do what you want with it. Some of the cabinets have scratches on the back but you will never see it anyway, otherwise they have never been installed.
Oven cabinet with the small useless one.

I forgot to mention the setup can use the wall oven in the cabinet or a range with a hood. You’ll have both. There are a few small extras like a partition for next to the fridge if it is exposed, extra hardware in one of the drawers and a spare piece of laminate for something (I have no idea).

Here is a shot of what the plan was. The only change is the small upper/lower next to the fridge were never ordered because we weren’t sure we wanted it.
Nice door detail, glazed finish. Were these “Alder” wood species? A dimensioned plan and or total list of base and upper cabinet widths will help if someone wants to lay out these cabinets in their own project. Most of the dimensions you gave are standard, but the wall cabinet height makes a difference. Just tryin to be helpful.
I am not sure about the alder species. I will try to get the measurements and I planned on posting them but I can’t find the other half of my receipt from the order. The kitchen is 160 square feet so it isn’t big but the sizes are very common and could be set up almost any way you could imagine. I have 3 doors on 3 walls in the kitchen so I was limited but depending on the space you can get real creative with them. If you are buying things for the kitchen from Lowe’s or Home Depot you can have someone in the kitchen department help you do the set up on the computer. That is how I got the above drawing. There are 16 cabinets, plus the wall oven unit and the partition.
Damn…3 of the 4 units in the place we just bought can certainly use updating. Probably won’t be back up there to do any measuring until Saturday though. I need to seriously think about this.
I like the color/styling. I think these would fit great in my house. I just can’t justify spending $4000 until I get some extra income coming in. Hopefully these are around a couple more weeks.
