There are tons of state troopers(with vests) on Rt39 and Mortons Corners road.
There is also a helicopter.

the state is paying for his funeral, and all expenses.
She is getting a hefty/large amount from the life insurance pay outs (especially because it was on the job)
and the state will honor his pension, for the rest of her life. She will most likely get 90% of his pay. And it will only increase over time.
When a trooper is lost, the family usually ends up staying about the same financially wise, if not way better.
