Buell 1125r or yamaha R6

pics of softtail

this is the only pic i have on this computer of the harley

Check out this review of the Buell:

http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Article_Page.aspx?ArticleID=5256&Page=1

On page three it lists some of the pluses and minuses. I’d take a good look at that, it could help you with making a decision.

.

other than the absolutely retarded mirrors on the windscreen I think the bike is sexy as hell.

like every sportbike since 1980? lol

those briefcase size intakes on the side of the bike ruin the whole thing for me, not to mention the ugly tail, but i find the full fairinged bikes to be far better looking. If i were to have to buy a naked, it would be a z1000, s4r, or speed triple… I actually dig venompwr’s buell on here… but im def not a buell guy

not doing it for me

on a looks only decision … r6 is one that would be hard to beat… for streetability… the 16k redline would make me shy away from an r6… but the buell is ugly, so id immediately rule that out, why not look at other bikes… triumph 675, 600rr, gsxr 600 or 750 (both got a makeover this year), or maybe even a liter? do you plan on tracking this bike at all? commuting? bringing girls on it? (or boys… i dont know you that well ;))… I’d be able to give a better opinion if I wasnt basing my whole argument on looks, cheapness, maintenance, and reliability

= ?

I could stick my whole arm (and probably my leg) through the opening between the front fairing and the triple / bars

pretty much

i kinda dig the “dash”… too bad i care what other people see… if i was looking for an all around everything bike for a starter/second bike… id be hard pressed to chose anything other than my 636 with a -1,+2… that thing was unstoppable… and quick for a 600 too… 10.7 with my slow ass on it (just a slip on)

are we in agreement for once rick??? lol… whats with people agreeing with me on here and wnysr lately… its weird

ADDITIONAL INFO… i immediately dont like the clip ons being part of the top clamp… that needs to be different, the fuel tank filler is WAY to close to the bars, just doesnt look right, and the suspension adjusters look goofy… from the DRIVERS STANDPOINT (while riding) i think that upper looks hot… from a bystander… completely opposite

eh i was dead set on that yellow and black r1 but couldnt swing it at the time. i havent really looked in to liter bikes yet i am going to make my ecision after the hoildays. its mostly for commuting im in rochester/waterloo alot and around buffalo too. my girlfriends into bikes so she would ride on it too. and i just have the harley for bombing around town… but its stupid loud and my neighbors dont like it at 6am when i go to work haha so i want a sportbike i miss it so much. i loved my r6 (besides my fucked 2nd gear) i wouls realy like the early zx10r the really small one but cant see, to find one. im hoping to find a bike at a dealer becuse financeing would be easier that way. toss some other ideas my way i am always into looking at new bikes.

well we could work on my gsxr if you were interested… i plan on moving soon, and realistically you could be “out the door” for less than the cost of a new 600… . let me know

Personally I like the way the buell looks and I like the fact that the fairing is soo far forward. It allows you to get your head down further and reduce drag. It looks as though they put forethought into the design. I have noticed that even on full fairing bikes the windscreen looks like its more of a design (looks) afterthought. This seems like you could tuck in real nice and become part of the aero as opposed to being drag. Just my 2 cents. Otherwise i like it. I want to ride one to see how it feels that plenum is supposed to create boost at higher speeds.

JUST BUY MY GSXR:gotme:

no buy mine

:roll2:

If by “technology” you mean a 30+ pound front wheel assembly (how is the handling when that huge chunk of metal is bouncing over every little bump?), hanging the exhaust 6 ft off the back of the bike (“There are two places to mount an exhaust can. The place that makes you a better rider and the place that doesn’t.”) and being wrapped up in all that fantastic plastic making it look exactly the same as any other bike from japan, then yeah, yamahahas have lots of technology. Oh, I almost forgot that wonderful chain drive, don’t you just love all that slop in the chain throughout the suspension travel?

Oh wait, kawasakis are neon green, right? I guess the r6 only looks like 2 other brands of bikes then, sorry.

You do gotta love the marvel of engineering that are the jap bikes though. I can just imagine the jap bike engineers sitting around a table brainstorming how to make the bikes better:

“The bike kinda sucks in the corners, any ideas?”

“I GOT IT! More hp and more speed to make up for it on the straights!”

“Brilliant!”

I haven’t yet ridden the 1125, but if it’s anything like any other Buell, one test drive is all that you will need to make your decision.

i am going to be buying this bike, 2008 Suzuki B King as soon as i luck in the house: Hayabusa engine + naked bike= Sex
