Right, but equity isn’t a factor in cost of living. That’s another issue all together.
Mediocrity rules buffalo, just ask random people where a good place to eat is. It really blows my mind where people line up out the door to eat.
↑ Where is a good place to eat around here???
Whatever. If you are not getting equity it is costing you. Big picture.
Oh it’s THIS thread again. LOL
Mediocrity in large quantities is the key. lol
Fact: LZ loves to argue.
You had me at deep dicking.
And all the other people who agreed
:io:
the fat kid in me keeps me in this area.
Agreed. I’ve lived a lot of places. California, Texas, Utah, Tennessee. Moved back in 04, and likely won’t leave until either my parents are gone, or I retire.
Looks like everyone needs to move to Detroit.
Pay has “nothing to do with cost of living”? Are you fucking kidding me???
You compare Albany to Buffalo when people are talking primarily about out of state taxation?
LOL. Just LOL.

You and one other guy mentioned that in this thread…this is a crucial difference. Pay towards your personal equity or towards government bloat…hrmmm tough decision.
I’m a firm believer in: cities are what you make of them and who you know.
I love Buffalo because at any moment, I can call someone up and do cool shit, because I know a lot of people…
I live in Spokane now, there is a ton of stuff to do outdoors, but I don’t know a lot of people so I find myself doing things by myself.
oh, and, I compared a $850k house in Orchard Park, which taxes were $41k a year, to a house in a comparative neighborhood in Spokane, the house was the same price, and taxes were $8k…
so yeah, FUCK NY taxes…
BED… can you please correct the spelling in your user title (RE: Wolrd)
and then…
The initial comment was about cost of living. The majority of the tax comments came after.
Your all pretty smart guys, but I just can’t believe something that a simple economic term like Cost of Living is so difficult to grasp. Your right, pay does have something to do with it, where wages are higher the cost of living is higher. [COLOR=“Silver”]

So you live on a completely self sufficient compound that you never leave or any benefit of government spending? That’s pretty amazing. They don’t plow your road, maintain local infrastructure, no benefits of public safety or emergency services? You’re not deducting any of that against your federal taxes either? You can argue that there’s too much waste, but to say you get no return on it is just funny.
Ultimately, you choose to pay that much in taxes.

All I wanted to know is what things are cheaper in this area.
Thanks CNN
If you move from Buffalo, NY to Raleigh, NC…
Groceries will cost: 9% more
Housing will cost: 27% less
Utilities will cost: 4% less
Transportation will cost: 6% less
Healthcare will cost: 12% more
Move from Buffalo to <insert city>, <insert state> it’s like exactly the same.
