Buffalo Athletic Club

Anyone have a membership there? I missed out on the 29.99 per month promotion but I looked at their website and they have a 3 months for $99 going on.

What is it like? The one that is right behind my apartment is the one by the Boulevard Mall. Is it busy a lot? When is the best time to go?

I am not a big gym person but I might go and jog or cycle and then lift light weights to try to get in shape.

Generally regardless of what promotion they have going on at the moment you can bargain with the sales guy to waive the enrollment fee and to give you several months at xx.xx. I have never used the BAC facilities however. Mid-town athletic club, World gym and southtowns athletic however all negotiated the price and were all really great gyms. Mid-town in rochester being the best.

BAC blvd is a good location, tons of TVs, huge cardio room, best times to go i think are after 730PM or so, hardly anywhere in there later in the nite, right after work im sure its crazy there, i usually go at like 8 or 9, sometimes even later… mondays are the busiest and then spirals downward as the week go by… you can go there to get a tour…

and the “negotiations” to waive fees, i think they plan on doing that with everyone so u are like “o shit iim so lucky !!”

im currently at Best Fitness on the corner of sheridan and Eggert. I didnt want something as crowded as BAC.

that is a good point. smaller places usually mean more access to the equip.

its a brand new club, so everything is (DUH) brand new. Tv’s all over the place, locker rooms are real nice. Pretty high concentration of hot vag as well.

that is the place in the plaza with yings right? i might go check that place out. do they have a lot of cardio machines?

I like el BAC.

Even when it’s “crowded” there are enough cardio machines.

yea, there is a large area for them

I had a membership before… nice place. i mostly went to the one by the eastern hills mall

What’s the membership rate? That place is walking distance from my house. Could be very handy.

I usually go to Alumni at UB since it’s free for me till 2010, but the fucking thing is closed all week for spring break and has goofy hours and shit.

Interested too. What is the rate and any contract or sign up fee? I live behind Circuit City so I can run there as part of the work out.

How is it free? Did you graduate or did you pay to get access? I graduated in Dec 07 so I am wondering if I can still get in there.

I’m a student again.

when i signed up, free enrollment on 1 year commitment, $30/month. $80 enrollment for 2 year, $20/month.

the girl was pushing the 2 year. i looked at her like :bloated: and went 1 year.

open 5-11 mon-thurs, till 10 on friday i think, till 9 on sat and 6 or so on sunday.

Two times in the past i’ve had problems with BAC. First time with billing, and then lousy staff. Second time lousy staff. The people they hire are very young (not a bad thing) and they push them so hard to sell memberships. The are glorified salesmen/woman. I think the compnay puts so much pressure on them to sell that they lose site of taking care of the customer. After the first time i had a problem i said i’d never go back, well like an idiot i did. The second time i was told they changed etc… They didnt i’m fairly convinced i wont ever be back. I used to go to Village Glenn (till they closed) awesome people and place i miss it.

6-8 mon-fri
12-5:30 sat-sun

Doesnt seem all that goofy to me

I need a 24 hour gym in rochester. work schedule is fucking weird.

They’re goofy enough that I can’t get there. Class till 9:30 at night. But thanks for that info. I thought it was just plain shut down this week for spring break.

my member just expired. i went to the one downtown. the place was nice but i get to distracted by the females when i go in there, then i end up not working out like i should. thats y im just guna go to the steel mill

I am trying to avoid a longer contract one. I might check out the BAC 3 month for 99 dollars and see if they can waive the enrollment fee.
