I have a 1000 rwhp Fbody that runs low 8s. Still a “street car” though, right?
I would like to see what the last 1/4 time is when it is up to speed? lol
If I’m going to do the math I’m going to use the Veyron SS since it’s the fastest.
Top speed 267 MPH
4.45 miles every 60 seconds
1/4 mile every 3.371 seconds
I still don’t get it how this is even an argument.
Go find your 9 sec drag car with AC that traps 140…
Now make it go 267
Then find something that does both and you could DD.
I know of one complete with phat beats what could have been had for the modest sum of $30k
Thank you good sir.
winning
Must be winter.
watching the video I really didn’t expect it to rip out of the hole like that. I must be use to slow cars.
10.1 for something stock and comfortable that isn’t a “drag car” is pretty fast. I think that with the amount of exposure real fast high profile built cars get now a days via the internet people have lost appreciation for what quick/fast is for a factory car especially one that straight line 1/4mi is hardly a measuring point for.
One critique is that I would have expected it to trap 145ish but im sure it would if geared for 1/4mi times.
don’t forget that the car wasn’t really launched, I bet there is a lot more in it.
On street tires
low boost pump gas will get you every time
According to Motor trend article he used launch control on the second race which is the video posted.

The GTR then raced his brother in a CTS-V and lost as well. The CTS-V top speed is probably only in the mid/high 190’s (stock 191).

Can they really be considered street tires when they can go 250+ mph and cost $10k a set?
Interesting fact the rims have to be changed as well every 3 tire changes or 7,500 miles at $60k a set
http://blogs.wsj.com/wealth/2010/01/19/does-owning-a-bugatti-veyron-cost-as-much-as-a-private-jet/
if i had $50M i’d have a Veyron and every other car mentioned here… except the F-bod
i would imagine that with a pro-driver the Veyron crack’s mid-9’s with a passenger, AC on, in 100 degree+ weather while playing Pavorotti on the stereo
this is stupid
There are some GTRs out there that are absolute monsters. The one that won the Moscow Unlim pulled a Bugatti hard.
Assuming they still have AC in them.
dont think the bugatti is a “you get what you pay for” item,
its more like a 15k Burberry bag, or an all original Aston Martin from the 70s, people buy it because they can, its a symbol of wealth
looked like it moved out pretty good to me. I was impressed
I have heard many reports that Bugatti is lossing money on each unit. While the sum of the parts might not justify the price tag, the R&D to get a car to safely achieve 250+ mph is where the cost is.
 Pavarotti**
I agree 100%.
I know where jimshorts is coming from, 1M+ should get you everything the BV does… and then some. But it doesn’t, and doesn’t have to.
The brother of the GTR driver is on the Jeep forum… Both owners are pretty cool dudes.
Why is it every time someone mentions that they expect more out of something that nobody on here can afford the same 3 fags derail the conversation and turn it into something it wasn’t intended to be? Especially in Gen Auto…
Bugattis ruined the internet.
