got my bridge fixed
and then made a little more progress.
looks awesome man, glad i got to stop by and check up on the progress. those nuts gonna hold up? i hope so haha you got it all boxed up now! lol
Little bit more progress today
These bolts are supposed to go in from the other side, via a hole in frame. The hole in the outside rail is rather large, and creates a weakpoint in the frame. I plated over the hole and welded the factory nut to the inside of the frame so that the bolt will have to go in the other way now. Shame I don’t really have any better pics to show you.
I see a metal piece labled “ER”. Is that the piece that sent you there? lol. Nice progress man.
BTW I fixed Lauren’s windshield squirter thing (warm enough finally). The hose looked fine, but in a spot you couldn’t really see, it was like something heated it up and then pinched it almost closed. Still replaced the pump anyway since we had it.

Looking good wayne! building these things is some serious fuckin work… never realized how much work goes into makin a hopper.
lol worst part is that this is a damn street car. the LEAST radical of anything i’ve had recently. I’m wrapping this frame in 3/16" plate, my old red Cutlass hopper was 1/4" from the front bumper to the front door, and 3/8" from the door the back bumper. and I think this shit is hard to work with LOL

ok serious question…
how do you get into all of nooks and crannies with paint to prevent rust? isn’t all of this already oxidized steel going to rust to hell in 5 years from the inside out?

nah, it’ll be fine dude. If the stock frame didn’t rot through after 26 years this one should last 100 being as its 4x thicker. LOL Next one’s gonna go to the blaster first though, grinding all this rust off is killin my lungs and the shop is dirty as hell.
