building ponds is a pain in the ass…i had to dig through all kinds of roots and clay to put mine in.
i know what you mean…there all over @ the house i bought…not lavender, but they are similar…mine are like grey with maybe a bluish/green tint.
almost kinda like a slate, but a little harder., but they break the same way, instead of chunking off, they like scale off.
Roots suck and so do rocks. I bent the tip of a digging bar digging the hole for the basketball hoop. 13 bags of concrete to fill it!

Are you putting fish in it? My dad keeps having problems with things eating the fish. I think there was a herring around that wiped them all out.
