Bushings / Wheel Bearing Removal ... Need Suggestions (56K Maybe)

I purchased a complete energy suspensions polyurethane bushing kit (front/rear) for my car a few months back and am finally to the point of installing it. I have all the pieces off my car that need to have the bushing replaced, but I noticed that basically all of the bushings look “stuck” in the spots where they are located. I have access to a machine shop that has a hydrolic press. Basically I’m just wondering if there is something I should do to the bushing before I take them to the shop. Like heat them up with a torch or something else to help break them free a bit. They seem like they are “stuck” to the housing that they were pushed into. Same thing goes for the front wheel bearings, they seem “stuck” also. Any suggestions on what I should do? Here’s pictures of what I have to deal with …

they make bearing pullers. the press will do much of the same. no need to do anything else imo

ok, I just wanted to make sure that there wasnt really anything else I should do before I go. thanks

bushings r pressed bearings r pressed.

bah…presses are for pussies:lol:, i did my wheel bearing just fine on my neon with no press, and i did intense98rt’s control arm bushing fine as well

Bring it by the shop and forget about it.

Carnut will take care of your quote…I already forwarded it to him.

ok thanks

I went to my buddies dad’s machine shop today … I pressed out all my bushing and even the wheel bearings came out no problem. Next step is to sand blast some of the parts and then install the new bushings/bearings and get my car back on the ground

That easy hun. Just like that. What about that whole fact that your an idot. Hahaha quote from Dane Cooke. :biglaugh: Hey they look good buddy can’t wait to go for a ride in the Hooked-Up Honda Accord, and see how she rides with the new bushing, struts, and springs.

Yeah, the hardest part about installing bushings is getting the old ones out. It should go pretty smoothly from here on out.
