buying a jetta 1995...with some mods

or audi

To each their own, I stay away from Hondas…

The 2.slow is a pretty reliable engine, and parts are not too expensive.
The VR6…get your wallet out.
Don’t get me wrong…i love VW’s. I own one now. I have pretty much owned some vw (or 2 or 3)continually since 1980. But they have their quirks and they have their issues. I prefer A1 and A2’s.

Go figure I post something about how I like my car and it hasn’t had much wrong with it at all, and the clutch cable breaks in another town 20-25 minutes away from home.
Looks like I’m fixing it tomorrow in the parking lot it’s stuck in…

start it in second gear and drive it home

Theres only about 10 stop lights and a few stop signs, just isn’t worth it tbh…

Sonny suggested the same thing, till I told him where I was lol

starters aren’t that good. they have plastic gears in them

If your going to be doing alot of performance mods to it… Dont buy it. If your just going to slam it and rock it out then I would.

lol

obd1 VR6 are not the great…step into a 96+ range. if your going to do it.

That sucks but it’s common. I had a clutch cable break in a Subaru i had when it was a year old with 15K on it. Broke on Penn avenue right in the middle of the strip. Interesting driving that car with a broken cable…LOL

In light of all the VW bashing… I owned a 1995 Jetta GLX for 6.5 years/98k miles. The car ran like a champ and in all those years I only had to replace a $352 coilpack.

yep my starter went the other night.

so did mine. it happens with a 13 year old car lol
