Cabin/Camping Ideas for a weekend

My BFF is getting married and I was tasked (as best man) to put together a weekend getaway for a bunch of our friends.

The groom has expressed interest in spending a Friday -> Sunday at a cabin or campsite. Ideally, I would like 5+ bedrooms that can sleep ~8-10 people.

Something woodsy or lake frontish and where we can make as much noise as we want and not be bothered.

I assume all alcohol related activities would stay at the site, so there isn’t much need for extra curricular activities or bar crawls (ie - Ellicottville).

Anyone have any ideas/places they could recommend.

I’d prefer to keep it within 60 miles of Buffalo.

Thanks in advance.

we actually just did a weekend at Allegheny park with a friend from high school and about 20 other guys. the newer cabins are pretty nice, stove and fridge in every cabin although no running water in the cabins themselves (community bathrooms for around 5 camp sites (showers as well))

we also got a school bus and went to southerntier brewing company, all in all it was a pretty great time and I think I paid $100? for 2 nights and the bus ride.

we stayed in the beehunter? cabins. bee- something.

Were you able to get rowdy or were there families with kids 100 feet away?

we were up till 4 am playing music out of the element and yelling at each other and no one seemed to care. but we rented 3 cabins that were pretty set back from the other 2 on the lot

Caution. As a “camper” who goes from time to time with friends, we do not have a trailer and typically rent whatever us available. Most campsites we’ve been to don’t care for rowdy, and neither do most of the other campers. Choose wisely and read reviews. Also, the term “cabin” can be used quite loosely. We once stayed at a place where our “cabin” closely resembled a tool shed.

Fair warning Allegany is very strict about rowdy drinking and noise. They have police patrols go around at midnight, if your out drinking by the campfire you get a ticket.

Can confirm shutting down of rowdiness at Alleghany. Would go somewhere else.

Look on airbnb I found a super nice cabin out near ellicottville that could easily sleep 10 people or so. It’s a little expensive but devided up it won’t be bad. I used airbnb going to Toronto and other places all over.

man we didn’t have any problems. maybe because it was in march?

I usually use vrbo.com to find places to go with large groups.

I used Flipkey when I booked my cabin in the Adirondacks. Basically just pick where you want to go and it gives you cabins, rooms, etc that people throw up there.

This is true of any of the state campsites. Some set quiet ours after 10PM. We walked down to the beach to look watch the sunset, and got hassled by the State Park Police since we were walking back from the beach after full dark. We weren’t even making any noise.

VRBO is good suggestion. I’ve only really used it when traveling other places, but there’s a bunch of stuff listed for Rushford Lake, I’m sure there’s stuff all over WNY available.

If you’re willing to go a little further, there’s a ton of stuff for rent around Sodus Bay. If any of you have a boat, you could rent one of the house on Charles Point, they’re boat access only, so noise complaints are a little less likely.

Thanks!

Yeah, we don’t go to Allegany anymore. Have to deal with the cops every single time we go there. The last time we were just drinking beers around the campfire not being crazy or loud or anything and they came by and wrote people tickets. The first time we were there, we should have all been sent to jail but just got tickets.

You could also use my camp down at mountain meadows. People party pretty hard down there and I have never heard of anyone complaining.

wait what?? sent to jail for what?
