So some of you may know myself and Justin have arrived in Cali for the next week and a half. So far Frank Sharath and Ross Petty have been more than accommodating and have really opened our eyes to the tuner lifestyle.
The 1st day we arrived at Garage Boso at 10pm after we picked up our sweet 2008 Cobalt…lol…we checked out the shop and hung around till about 2am then headed to their house. It’s basically a bunch of guys from the tuner industry one guy who runs amateur drift events, Luke from Import Tuner magazine (editor) and Frank and Ross. Chilled out had some beers and went to bed at about 7am.
Next day we woke up had some authentic Japanese food and headed back to the shop. Chilled out and called it a day early. We headed to the Los Angeles Observatory crazy sights you can see all of Socal. After we left there we went to check out Hollywood what a dive not what we expected. We headed back to th house and chilled for a bit.
At about 12:30am Ross decided he wanted to take us to the more seeded parts of Los Angeles. He first took us to Skid Row where we saw hundreds of bums camping out in tents literally. We left there and headed to South Central and went through Compton and Inglewood. It is exactly like you see on TV and the movies a real eye opener.
Today we went back to the shop were myself and Justin worked on the HKS S15 for a few hours we then went to a place called Autobacs which is basically the size of a small Canadian Tire filled with aftermarket car parts pretty cool place to see.
Tomorrow will consist of meeting up with Brian Crower and going to Apexi and HKS to pick up some parts for the Garage Boso S15. Must be nice to drive 20min to head office to grab parts…lol
Well here are some pics so far they are off my point and shoot as I forgot the card reader for my DSLR.
First we woke up 7:30am and headed to San Diego to meet up with Brian Crower. We needed to get the stroker kit for Garage Boso’s RHD S15. From there we went to Dynamic Autosports to pick up more parts and check out the home of Hankook Forula Drift team. After that we decided to check out Kaaz Diffs home office and see there FD team right after we noticed the back to the future Delorean so we snapped some pics then we headed over to Apexi to see their USA R&D division and see there FD team. All and all an awesome day of meeting people in the industry. The best part they were all down to earth and excited to hear about the industry and see fellow tuners from outside of the US.
I also uploaded all the pics I have so far they are unedited so here you go. Maybe some bad ones bu I don’t have my PC with me so they’ll have to do.
Happy New Years!!! We had an awesome time as we attended the Armen Van Buren Rave at the LA event center. 30,000+ people letting off a ton of energy really makes you feel good about life.
We also went to Vegas and got back today. I was down $60 bucks and Justin came up with $500.00. Not to bad a may say. We drove through the mountains and desert which was an expierence in itself. I would highly recommend it to anyone who gets the chance. Only 4hrs from where we are staying.
