CAN ANYBODY IDENTIFY THIS CLUTCH?

I just recently got a clutch installed by Sumaru’s auto a couple months ago…which was possibly one the worst mistakes of my life… … the problem is reg said they flushed everything out including my transmission fluid, and engine oil. And just a couple weeks ago i got a leak and took it in to another shop, when they took a look at it they said it was the rear seal, and theey asked me when was the last time i got an oil change and i told them jus a couple months ago, when i got sumaru’s to fix my clutch (cus they said they did all that good stuff) but apparently none of it was done… my transmission fluid was chunky and thick black sludge and the oil wasnt anybetter…! … once they got the tranny pulled they said the clutch appeared to be stock or wasnt a nismo clutch like reg said was installed…
If anybody can identify or verify the make or if its even a NISMO clutch kit that would be extremely helpful…

ill leave some pics of the clutch, pressure plate, etc…

If anybody has any input what so ever …please be my guest to comment!

were you trying to post pictures in this thread as I did not see any. You can not quote an attachment in an email as an image file, please use photobucket or something to host the images so we can see.

When I was working for Import Concern I sold this clutch set that went in to your car to Sumaru and met with Reg myself at his shop and both the pressure plate and clutch disk are genuine Nismo parts.

If the service was not done correct at Sumaru shop which I hope it was not it is not the fault of Import Concern as the parts that were requested were 100% new unused and correct to which was ordered

Here are pictures of the CA18 Nismo clutch set that was purchased

thanks for the input … the clutch disk seems to be the same … and im not ranting about the service from I.C. …its just alot of people have given me some bad reviews about sumaru’s…but thanks for posting those pics they were real helpful…the pics are working on my comp ill try posting again!

is this jus an oem clutch made by nismo? or stage 1 or 2?

not an OEM Nissan clutch disc at all but rather a 3 puck design with more agressive pad material that hold more torque and has a lightened rotating mass for quicker throttle and rev response. Nismo makes a straight disk and 3 puck designed disks and you have the better of the two.

I have used Nismo 3-puck clutches in a few CA18 cars I have had and they are really awesome to be honest and grab really well.

thanks alot man that really took alot of stress off my shoulders… but still doesnt explain sumaru’s shitty ass installation service… lol i have no problems with dealing with Import concern they were prompt and trust worthy…Sumaru’s on the other hand …ummm no coment i think ive said enough.

did the pics show up ?

yes now the pictures work :stuck_out_tongue:

the leaking frost plug is not their fault as they need to be resealed or replaced at times as they allow for expansion to prevent block cracking incase of freezing or overpressure.

the dowel pins for the clutch cover are odd as usually they will line up with ones on the flywheel but possibly your flywheel is not OEM and does not have those dowel pins to line up on the pressure plate clutch cover. As long as none of the bolts into the flywheel are not missing you should be alright actually

its probably because i had to get a new flywheel machined … so its not the oem flywheel… do you still work with import concern cus id like to find some parts for my sil

So basically the only thing you have to scream at sumaru about is crummy gear and motor oil? :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry I do not but you can contact Christian through their website

Just my 2 cents but, Reg is a great mechanic. me being a mechanic my self know whats Hack as fuck and whats not. You may have gotten one of his younger ones? But Scott is very right. and im kinda drunk…end

Sorry to hear about what happened, Reg did great work on my previous cars. The problem is, he doesn’t always do the work, the younger guys do, and that’s when these “negative” reviews arise. Have you given Sumaru’s a call and explained to them the situation? I know when a shop does this alot of trust/faith has been lost, but see what they can do to regain that.

I have not been there in ages but i should swing by sometime, last time i remember he had a super mint 95 240 in the back, royal purple.

no dont get me wrong reg is a good guy … and a great mechanic …but the other mechanic’s need to treat each car they wrk on like its their own…all the negative reviews ive heared from sumaru’s has nothing to do with reg himself, its the other mechanincs thats work for reg…and im not pointing anyone one mechanic out. Im sure they do a great job when reg is around, its just a shame that it had to be my car or anyone else’s car when something like this happens…but in any case a good shop will do good work all the time if they ever want customers coming back…

Sounds like you should let EZ know about that. God knows Kevin doesn’t listen.

This could be scary actually, some of the worst vehicles I have ever seen are owned by mechanics, hell, of the three I own my Nissan is the only one I maintain. My truck and my honda are lucky to get oil changes once a year.

ha ha ha, honesty, don’t hear that every day. I found that weird myself, most mechanics i know/met never drive nicer vehicles, probably because they know they’ll cost x10 as much as a beater to fix.

yeah, why would a mechanic get a car he cant fix himself?
