I’m looking at purchasing a C6Z, and I’m curious to know if it’s had any major warranty work before I pull the trigger. Is there anyone here that works at a Chevy dealership that can help me out? The vin is: 1G1YY26E165104804
Wouldn’t a carfax report reflect that if it had?
The carfax is clean. I had the impression that depending on how the dealer reports it, it may or may not end up in a carfax. To be honest, I don’t know much about it but it seems like each of the automakers have an internal warranty repair tracking system. I’m looking for things like a de-laminated roof replacement or major mechanical repairs under warranty.

Sweet you will need to give me a ride in this if you get it
Thanks Ultradriver!
Definitely Spencer.
Nice. More pushrods, more fun. I almost bought one of these before deciding to go w/ the C7 Z51 instead, both are excellent machines. It looks like it was originally sold by Les Stanford - that’s where I got my C7 (and proceeded to drive it home over the Canadian border with paper temp plates )
Man, that car has been all over the place!
It looks like a two owner car one in CT and one in Florida, unless I’m missing something.
I can see why people are debating between the C6Z and a C7. The real question for me is, is it better to have a C6Z, or modify my c5?
C5s are dated the C6z it better in every way even if you mod the hell out of the C5.
How many more years until NYSpeed is all Corvettes and 911s?
Pretty soon I bet. Nyspeed does not seem to be getting a lot of new younger members anymore.
 I’m sure you’ve done your research but have the cylinder heads been checked and/or repaired?
Nyspeed Corvette meet?
Lol. I just got a c5z. Wont be long before everyone is converted.
Because they are all on facebook. 716misfits provides hours of entertainment for me.
I want to know when can I do some pulls with these corvette’s & 911’s ?
I’m trying to learn as much as I can. It seems like the dealership pulled the valve covers 3k miles ago and determined that the valve guides are within spec. I planned on having the heads done and getting a bigger oil tank. Is there anything else to worry about?
How about Nyspeed LS meet, then you basically have everyone covered…
95% of the active members don’t own any fun cars so :tif:
The heads are the main concern. I just got mine back from American Heritage Performance in California, very quality work. I didn’t check or measure mine but I did notice some valvetrain noise, though it may have been normal LS7 noise. I just did it for peace of mind.
