I have begun mockup for my GS1000 cafe build and have started working on my bars and controls. I orders some clip ons but after I mounted my stock controls on them, Ive realized that they just look worn. I jumped on ebay and was looking at some Suzuki SV stock clip ons that come with all the controls and levers. Can I use these controls on my GS1000 and just mate the wires with my stock wiring harness? I plan on freshening the harness up and changing all of the electrical plugs so I assume I can just match the wires up when I change out the connectors. Anyone have any insight?
you can def. swap out the controls, just do some basic electrical using an idiot light to figure out what wires go to where and you will be all set. I have contemplated throwing some newer controls on my '75 CB550 cafe bike as well…
