I saw this car two or three years ago at this dealership in Burnaby.
“SR20 motor 250hp, 5 sp, full bodykit, carbon fiberhood, carbon fiber wings, upgrade computer, Apexi shocks/adjustable, clean shell, 02 Toyota Celica seats, racing Dynamic 17’ mags with 205-40 ZR18, $3000 custom orange pearl paint job…”
Obviously it is still there. I imagine they have been driving it otherwise it would have been sold by now.
The orange actually isn’t as gross :vom: as one might think when you see it for real. Not really my colour however.
Anyway, I would never buy this or any car from these guys. Can you say, “cheeeeezy gold chain wearing shady car lot dude”? But…
I am wondering if you think it is possible to build something similar-ish (excluding the wing) for less than the $18,000 plus GST that they are asking.
Stock s14s of that vintage are showing up around $11,00-$13,000.
Well, as I said, I saw it like three years ago at this same car lot so maybe they have been trying to sell it for a long time and their price is finally coming down to reality.
i say it could be done for probablya little less then that price if you are willing to get your hands a little dirty and do a few things yourself.if your smart when you go to shop for parts and the car.
man, if you look hard enough you can get an 95 for 8,500. just don’t car about the engine condition cause your going to be swapping it out anyways, and if the paint is faded, well your going to be repainting it as well. The only thing to look for is the condition of the interior and if there is any rust.
plus you could get a WAY better kit and make a car that nice with $18000
Well, there’s my car for $9000 OBO 8) , + $500 for a 5-Speed swap, + $2500 for engine, + $1000 for paint if you prep it yourself, + $600 for bodykit, + $800 for suspension, + $400 for racing seats, + $1200 for rims, + $700 for hood = $15,700 give or take a grand. These prices are for things I’ve looked into… So yes it is doable!
Someone needs to pose as a prospective buyer and ask them all sorts of questions about the modifications. The dealership apparently built the car. I saw it being worked on in their shop.
Once they flex their pseudo-tuner muscles about how great their skills are, ask how they get 18 inch tires to stay on 17 inch rims. :finga:
