Car Magazine: Inside BMW M and the new M3 (11 pgs. of scans) DSL warning

awesome find

i can’t get over the exhaust pics…just looks like it wouldn’t really flow well at all with all those unnecessary zig-zag bends…

but who am i to argue with BMW lol

oh, and  to a sweet article, always been a fan of the newer M’s

^ you mean the bends that need to be there to clear the diff, and control arms? those bends?

the new motor is meh, would have rather seen an evolution of the S52, but those manifolds, if equal length are fucking works of art

Top gear approved. I love the V8

bmw has created the ultimate luxury sports car… tons of power but smooth as silk.
take it to work on monday and race it on saturday.

bends with consistent cross sections typically do not restrict exhaust flow. If they were crush bent, then it’s time to worry.

wow, i wish that did look sooo hot.

beacuse then i would not want one…

“A short stroke means high revs, where a longer stroke gives US-style lazy torque”

classic

Yeah really. Who cares if the exhaust bangs on the rear diff at every bump as long as those pipes are straight as an arrow.
