I had all this stalling, hesitating, idle more erratic than an over-caffinated squirrel. Car was running like a pile of crap
unplugged the O2 sensor cause i had a hesitation once and unplugging that got rid of it so i left it off for like 6 months till i got a new one and it was fine
its getting great mileage and running like a top…90 percentof the probs are fixed
so whats going on? should i get a new one and maybe see more improvements? or just leave it unplugged? It was a cheap sensor
thx
no O2 sensor will make you run rich, … its not a big deal but your car will smell like fuel and you’ll go through fuel faster.
… The best thing to do is to find out what was causing the problem, a bad O2 sensor will not cause those problems discribed, but by removing it you could have put the ECU into a different mode and this ignored the actual problem that could have been caused by the TPS or the MAFS, also the O2 sensor wiring to the ECU might have a short in it and that was causing the problem so removing stopped the short, but its still there.
Best to fix the problem then to ignore it because you may not know what the problem actually was, and it will come back again.
