Yeah, that green Expy that was up @ 1st-try that didn’t have the body lift would be a bitch to get to the back plug holes. At least I had a body lift on it and it was relatively easy to get to the back two and #4 still blew out.
And, new truck owner, I’m just trying to help, I’m not bashing maliciously or anything. You may get 250K out of it. Or you maybe it will blow up after 60K. I hope it is closer to 250K.
You fuckin idiot…what did I tell you…if you need a work truck you should have gotton a beater/cheaper truck and kept the ws.6. Now you stupid ass got a fucking ford…ohh well this world needs idiots too.
anything>ford IMO
they rust too fast ask JACKDUP his was 2 yrs old and was rotted no lie!!
the trans is the same as ford ranger. i picked it up with one hand, a shift fork broke in it. now i can’t remember how many wheel bearings we went through 6 or 7? every other oil change i changed a different wheel bearing. that was front end. the rear grenaded 4 times???
don’t know how many coil packs blew out
and blew a spark plug out of the hole
wow, i forgot what all i did on that thing. that was really a POS
The trans was the M50D , same as ranger. POS. no doubt weak as fuck.
The wheel bearings was 6 or 7 @ 250 a pop…but remember, I put 37 inch bias ply tires on it…they were part of the problem. No balancing of these was possible.
The motor was so loose we replaced oil as soon as 2K miles @ 70K on that truck.
And the spark pulgs…let’s not talk about that item. Damn plugs were loose as a whore on Liberty Ave…
the 4.6 mod motor that ford uses is very reliable. look at all the cop cars and taxi’s that have 500K+ on them, they must be doing something right. Every car make has their shitty ones but overall, ford has done a decent job over the past few years.
My brother in law has a silverado and hates the thing. It’s broken down more than my SHO ever was, and that’s pretty damn bad. 6 on one, half a dozen on the other.
Good luck with the truck. The new f150’s are the nicest truck out right now. good buy.
the 4.6 and the 8.8 rears seem to hold up really well in the cars. but in the trucks they blew the fuck apart all the time. i don’t know how many 8,8 in trucks i have replaced. but then in a car you launch the shit out of 8.8s and it holds up great. so if going trucks buy at least a 3/4 ton so it holds up just my 2cents
rust protection wont do shit if its a problem area ive seen brand new yukons with 100miles tops with rust dodge rams same way if its gonna happen aint shit stopin it
