Cars you are thinking of buying... *WTF A CAR THREAD?*

now that i like

a7 competition or 2012-13 Range rover sport.

Probably wont be getting one for years at this point though. New winter/business car and SUV for fiance first

here’s your 2002 turbo: http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172863

$95k cdn… wtf?

$95k and don’t forget it’s not even running right and starting to rust…

The car fires right up and runs fine until it comes under load, then it runs lean then rich. The fuel system needs a check upThere are small chips in the paint and specs of rust here and there. See video below

I don’t know rare old BMW values but that seems like it’s pretty far on the crack pipe side of the scale.

vintage BMW’s are in a weird space right now.

if you’re into BMW’s then you know that the prices of them are about to chase the vintage Porsches… but not a ton of people are really into these cars at the moment.

there is a local guy from SON that works on a private car collection north of the GTA that restored a 2002 Tii for a guy and it looks incredble… our discussion was that it is a north of $150k car once restored.

clean E30 coupes like what Walker had are a steal at $10k right now. I scooped a lightly hit first gen M5 for $6k cdn for a friend and he took it back to Germany where it is a $50k car stock. We’re going to snag another field car M5 soon too.

E21’s are a steal and any first gen M6 is $30k+ in Canada right now.

I have been casually looking at V10 M5 and M6’s in manual trans. they are getting harder and harder to find.

not sure if this pic will attach this way… this is the 2002 i was mentioning.

There’s one by my shop on jack stands…

Don’t forget about E30M prices.

yeah those go wihtout saying… $50k for a scrap one now and $80k for a solid one.

i remember being able to get them for $12k running and driving.

dude around the corner from me has an E36 318is with 17,500 original kilometers on it he just imported from Japan… wild.

I keep seeing driver quality late 50’s, early 60’s c10’s for sub 10k w/v8 and 4 on the floor.

I also really want a Toyota Chinook to restore…

I also regret not bucking up for @XwalkerX 's e30. I think about it often.

right now is the time to buy a mint E36 M3. all signs show that good ones will be going up in value probably about 5 years from now. The first E36 M3 to sell over 100k has already happened, but that was an LTW in amazing shape with low miles.

I’ve spent well over 100k on motorcycle related stuff in the past 5 years or so.

That said the only car I really want to buy is this, a C-10 Skyline. But they’re well over 50 grand just for a replica GT-R, and coming up on a quarter mil for a real example.

if that doesn’t work out, you could always swap a skyline motor into an E30

i’m inclined to agree with this and i would probably scoop one. i’ve kind of honed my ‘desire’ down to something analog, manual and fairly slow as something i can teach my kids to drive on but something that will go up in value and be sorta cool for a while.

lol

Here’s an M3/4/5, perfect analog family car. I agree the E36’s will probably spike up in the near future. Wish I hung onto mine.

One absolutely beautiful car and one I’d love to see roaming the streets around here.

I’d love to get my hands on a 70s white Fairlady 240z. So much love for those but I don’t see it ever happening with my mind made up on purchasing my fathers 03 S2000.

Haha. I’ll probably never buy one. Also, did you guys know that the guy who bought my E30 totaled it the first month?

I did not know that. Sad.

Any details around how it happened?

if you want a C10 skyline go over to Japan and pick one fresh, pre-import.
