Crossovers specifically.
Worth it?
I mean, Cat 6 is essentially Cat5e with less distance limitation
better signal to noise ratio and yadda yadda
but it’s so much cheaper than these cisco cables that run between the switches…
your thoughts?

I worked for Anixter, a huge wire and cable distributor, and during testing cat 6 is amazingly better when coiled, or longer distance runs etc
if you doing short tight runs i’d say forget it, the loss is only 10-30% over cat 5 , but if you have to coil or loop wire, or have huge runs together that are long, it might be worth it…
all depends on what and where its being used
since when is cat 6 much more than cat 5e? prices when i get wiring done for cat 6 vs. cat 5e are almost always the same
