Yeah, Ive been meaning to plant a few trees to offset…Ive had pretty good luck with my setup, it doesnt pull crazy vacuum but it does work well. I made a couple logs last year showing vacuum vs rpm and load but I dont have them anymore. Ill do it again later in the year when Im up and running again.
Just finished up a catch can setup for a fellow VW dude. Made a “4 pack” of cans; Coolant res, washer res, oil catch and power steering res.
The catch cant is simple and effective. The inside has a baffle that basically splits the inside of the 3" dia can in 2 pieces. The side ports blast in, and 1" from that, inside they hit the baffle face, and the air is forced down to the bottom, then back up the other side and out the air filter. Like adam said it will be stuffed with some SS mesh.
A lot more compact and simpler design I think. Much faster to build, so cost is cut a bunch. I can pop one of these out for $70. In fact i have a 3, -8 AN inlet version for sale I will post up tomorrow.
