CB radio anyone?

So i was cleaning up around the garage and found my old CB radio. Used to use it a lot before on the highway but turned it on today and got nothing. Anybody actually use these things anymore? Or have they gone the way of the dinosaur?

people that think they are the coolest kids on teh block use them i think

it used to be pretty big back in the day but i think cell phones have taken over. Would be cool to use em again cause i think they are pretty badass.

channel 19 to chat with all the truckers, lol

i use mine on the highway to get traffic and such from truckers.
also has a weather channel.

^^ yeah thats what i used to do but on like a big cruise or whatever its sick to have the big group konvo…

Used to join in on the classic car cruises in the summer

ch 19. get a big ass cobra one… they work good. chrom or go home. led fucks up on it dou…

Im going to rock one.

K so i’m gonna put it in and rock it for a bit but wondering what other channels do people use.

19 is truckers
1,2,3 are amateur radio and i think you need a license
9 is emergency and you don’t wanna get fucked on that one

A bunch of us in Oshawa run them

no such thing as cb license.

They’re great if you’re out of your cellphones local area and still want to talk.

Does anyone know if they qualify as a handheld device under Ontario’s law?
Seems that some Truckers have gotten ticketed under the cell phone law. really, what other option do they have, they need to use the channel break.

^^ true…

But its not hard to drop the handset quickly so it’d be hard to get caught. Just uh, be careful you don’t drop it on your nuts.

I worked for a trucking company for a few years (not as a driver thank god!), it is still legal for them to use the CB. Ontario was going to ban them aswell, but like prozac3ne2nr said, they have no other choice and need to communicate. Though new aged computers are taking over in trucks, new Volvo’s have text-to-speech and speech-to-text capabilities.
