Cell phone guys step in, new phone needed soon

Ok, I have an EVO 4g and a blackberry… one i use for work (bb) and one i use to play on and use as a hotspot for my laptop when I’m on the road.

Basically unlimited everything for ~ 145 a month. I’m just tired of carrying around 2 phones and I use over 4 gigs without even trying each month.

The other reason I carry 2 phones is the BB tends to last all day and thats really important since my business is run through it.

I want a reduced bill, and I want to have only one phone (so it must be rootable for hotspot’ing… )

I get a big discount from sprint so I’m tempted to stay and the new EVO 4g lte and the planned Samsung galaxy s3 are my first choices…

Should i hold off for something that I don’t realize its debuting soon? alternatives? Why couldnt sprint get a phone with RAZR MAXX like stats…

EDit… I want to port my old rochester ny number to a google voice number and forward it? Is there a way to make texts from the old number forward too?

Id hate to lose business from somebody who had my old number…

You’re going to need to get used to charging the phone more often (like in the car or off the laptop) if you’re going run your business from an Android or an iPhone.

Well that sucks to hear… Guess I’ll be buying 2 batteries

yeah … or you can get one of those gargantuan extended batteries. Do you not have a car charger or a USB to plug into a laptop periodically? A spare battery in your bag works too.

It’s not like you need to charge every 2 hours, but if you’re going to get in the car and drive for 20 minutes it would help to charge at that time.

Spare battery with an external charger is where it’s at.

There’s nothing earth shaking coming out any time soon. The next big thing will be when they get quad core processors working with LTE modems, and even when that happens and all the blogs get done blowing their loads we’re all going to go “well shit they’re not really much better than a good dual core processor.” In other words the GSIII or the One X (Evo 4G LTE) are both going to be top of the line phones for a while. Does the Evo have a replaceable battery so you can carry a spare? I’m not sure…

Looks like text messaging works on Google Voice. http://support.google.com/voice/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=117494

Fry- Like

The Evo 4G LTE is a re-branded One X so the battery is integrated.

If the sIII is anything like the nexus the battery will be horrible, I love my razr maxx btw

Just put the Halo Launcher on my Maxx, puts a skin on Gingerbread (android 2.3.x) that’s just like ICS. Strait off Google Play.

Get one of these for emergencies. $10…
