Cellphone issue - Powers down randomly

Phone - Casio G’ZOne Type S - Verizon Wireless
Age- Approx. 2 months
Symptoms - Worked great until yesterday, when it decided to start randomly powering off. As of today, the only way I can get it to turn on is to leave it sitting for an extended period of time and it will start and work for a few minutes then turn off. Occasionally I will get an error message stating “Battery Required” when I attempt to start the phone.

Phone has never seen water, and is water-resistant, shock resistant, and is billed as being incredibly durable.

Pretty damn pissed if you ask me. Wondering if there’s any tricks I can do to get it working again or if I should just take it to the tech center on McKinley (i ordered it from the VZW site)

Could be bad firmware.

Is there a way to fix that without sending it back, or am I screwed there?

call the fru hotline

866-406-5154

they should send you a replacement, and then you send the old one back with a prepaid shipping lable

I know my ENV does that… but thats just cause its in my pocket lol

The battery might be losing connection to the phone… this happened to my old one. just take some paper, just a little, and shim the back of the battery to make it fit snugger against the connecters. hope that helps, worked for me…

my brother has this same phone and it’s been randomly shutting off too and some other weird things he told me about but i only half listened… that’s about all i have to offer to this thread.

Hmm, worth giving a try.

its under warranty for a yr, you should be able to go to the store and get and in store replacement

So I got it replaced. No biggie, no questions asked.

And a new issue with the new phone, and I really do not feel like sending it back AGAIN.

When I first answer an incoming call, I get an alternating tone that occurs for the first second or 2 before connecting to the call. It is EXTREMELY annoying, and like I said, I do not feel like going back to the tech center location on McKinley, again, or sending it thru the mail.

Is this something that anyone else has ever run into on a phone of theirs?

dude. :ham:

your phone is set to answer call when you open it. you are pressing send as well. thats why its doing that.

rofl my copter.

Oh my.

I honestly did not even think to check for that setting. Even more so, I think that setting effing SUCKS.

I suck as well for being so dumb.

I :picard: myself on this one.

some people love that setting.

Ugh, I for one hate that setting, and was not aware the phone was preprogrammed to answer calls that way.

Either way, I’m an effing 'tard.
